Ok so here is my take on why this is so short which is so unusual for RWBY we are not done with Cinder backstory this part of The Truth is only her start with her abusive stepmother and stepsisters and it tells us what Cinder thought at this moment of her life the line: You are no good I hope you know that your life is of no use and the truth is that one ever love you is what Cinder thought at this moment of her life, but we have a big question mark when it comes to how Cinder came from killing her abusers and mentor to meeting Salem, and my theory is that when we see that we will get The Truth part 2 or something like that and when Cinder whole character is done this will end up being a full song recap of Cinder whole life and thoughts of it aka The Truth that's my big brain theory

I looked at the full volume 8 soundtrack, but this is the only song that didn’t have more to it, so I was a little surprised by that. Not complaining, but since the song was for Cinder (Cinderella) I thought they would go more into how she was mistreated and abused in the song.

Tbh, my least favorite, (opinion) It is fine in itself, but feels not like a RWBY song. It's TO straight forward, not telling you about something with interresting and creative wordplay, and referances, so you can put 1 & 1 together. This feels more like something out of children-entertainment, simple and straight forward, with little complex meaning to it, probably due to it beeing this short. Not liking it, sry
