The M clasp is common with Asian necklaces, it's made in that shape so an amulet (typically Buddha) hangs from the middle part of the clasp with the clasp and amulet worn in the front. The M clasp is not meant for you to open and close it like you're doing in the video, opening and closing the way you're doing will definitely break it. I'm not sure I can explain it in words but I'll try. The way I was taught is you're suppose open them with a twist motion instead of the pull motion like you're doing in the video. If you're holding the clasp with it facing you (either in the M or W position), instead of pulling the leg to the right, you twist it back.

@@MiningAsteroidsthen its your fault that it broke.. i have a 16gram 2mm 23inch 21karat Saudi gold rope and a 32 gram 3mm 26inch 22karat Indian gold rope chain, have them for 3 months wear daily, gym, outdoor, in the house, shower, sleep, I do everything with them on, and not broken at all. They are very strong and durable in the right hands. Im yet to buy a 24karat chain but in the UK high purity gold is only common in Indian or Arab communities/shops

@@shaunpearson7905 Actually they are using their head to place the chain over.😆😀 Ok, kidding aside, yes you are correct and an easier solution is to get the size chain that just slips over your head and you don't have to keep opening any type of clasp. Even lobster clasps get worn out and break with constance use no matter what karat they are. 😀

If you buy 24k gold jewelry that’s solid it wouldn’t break as easy. People that buy light hollow jewelry it will break, bend and dent very easily. Spend the extra money and get a solid piece! I have a 22 inch 24k chain 312 grams solid, having it for about 12 years now I have never experienced any issues. It never bend, break or even twist the only noticeable issue is the scratches but for 12 years of daily wear it’s bound to have some sort of scratches.

Wearing 24k with the m clasp you’re not supposed to always take it off. You can wear it even in the shower so no worries just leave it on. I have worn one of mine for years and only took it off once. For high purity gold solid is the best. I have 5 solid 24k chains with the m clasp and they never broke. M clasp is good to keep pendants from moving around. Asian necklaces have those type of clasps. You’re not suppose to open it back and forth just slight left and right and the middle is for a pendant. 10k and 14k gold is trash dull yellow compared to 22k and 24k’s bright yellow. Hollow is worse breaks easily. 21k and above is the way to go.

Actually gold alloys are bright yellow as it is mixed with silver. 24K gold has a deep orange hue. 99.99 is the only way to go!!! I only wear them on special occasions cuz they can easily get scratched up and polishing it will strip some gold off.

I have one, you are supposed to push it sideways instead of pulling it back. I had mine for years and it never broke off because 24k gold is very soft and malleable. I also have a 8mm bracelet with the same clasp and that’s definately not going to break off.

You have one baht necklace 15.2 grams maybe if you get a 10 bath necklace you wouldn’t have the issue cuz it’s more dense it’s more heavy and it was more gold so it won’t break or dent , on you the more gold you have in pure 24k the stronger it gets if you get 20 bath that so dense and heavy and the m clasp gets bigger and bigger the bigger the chain it’s so it hold the weight!!!!
