@@nessmain6411this is exactly right. From what I remember, the soccer game is the only part of season 2 that Greg voices Iroh for, Greg Baldwin has actually stated multiple times that he will NOT sing “Leaves From the Vine” because that is Mako’s song, and he believes he himself could never bring it full justice the way Mako did.

I've always found it quite unbelievable that Toph couldn't bend the earth just below the thin wooden floor of the cell and destroy the entire building, but, you know, suspension of disbelief and all. She's been able to see/sense/manipulate earth from much greater distances. One of the VERY few plot holes in this show.

Not too many people know the relation, as the Avatar wanted to hide his bloodline, but Azulon, Ozai's father, found a descendant of Roku and arranged the marriage to Ozai to strengthen their bloodline, joining Firelords and the Avatar. Azulon planned it. She didn't love Ozai, but her family couldn't deny the Firelord.

Book 3 Episode 6 is one of my favorite episodes in the entire series. It truly shows the conflict between the world’s balance and the personal morals of political figures. I truly believe that if the volcano had never erupted, Sozin wouldn’t have started the war and would have passed from old age along with his lifelong friend. You can see the moment everything changes when Roku is on his knees barely breathing from the volcanic gases. Sozin takes an instant shift from friend, to greed-filled war lord. He went to that island genuinely wanting to help his friend in a crisis. But when he saw the opportunity, he simply couldn’t ignore it. His vision for the world over-shadowed his deep and loving friendship. To me, that was one of the best scenes in the entire show. We simultaneously learn that friendship can not only transcend lifetimes, it can also be disregarded at the flip of a switch. That is a great display of the brutality AND impulsiveness of the powerful figures in this show.

Zuko's mother, Ursa, being Avatar Roku's granddaughter is not common knowledge in the Fire Nation. Ozai's father, Fire Lord Azulon, found out about it (I don't know how) and arranged the marriage between Zuko's parents with the intention that the offsprings would have the blood of both the royalty and the Avatar. That's how we have the prodigies Zuko and Azula, although Zuko is a prodigy in swordsmanship rather than Firebending. I am not sure whether Azula knows this connection though, there is a possibility she was never informed. But pretty sure Ozai and also Iroh knows about it.

- The royal artefact that Iroh gave to Zuko is actually Iroh's. Remember he's the first born and supposed to be the Fire Lord. And he should passed that down to his son Lu Ten, but because of what happen he passed that down to Zuko who he thinks should be the next in the throne. - 5:45 Katara: "Do they have bathrooms in the spirit world?" Sokka: "As a matter a fact, they do not." It seems like a very random scene, but it's actually a reference to Book One episode 7, "Winter Solstice, Part 1", when Sokka was taken to spirit world by Hei Bai. After he got released, Katara asked "how are you feeling", and Sokka answered "I seriously need to use the bathroom." - Toph: "Do you really think friendships can last more than one lifetime?" Well I don't know Toph, you tell me 😉

13:50 so, i know that Sozin was confirmed to be bi, not sure about Roku, but one can assume that unrequited love could've also added onto Sozin's ambition. If that is the case, this scene here is just much more heartbreaking and/or petty: Sozin stood there contemplating whether to help the person he was "in love" with, OR to leave him to his death. Reminds me of: hell hath no fury like a woman scorned; only sozin was a man 😅 well, a bitch of a man 😂

I'm halfway through the Roku novel, and damn - the context around Prince Sozin giving Roku his hairpiece is so sad. Spoilers- The gift was Sozin's mother's idea, but she told him to "think of it as a leash, to remind him where his true loyalties lie" - Sozin was upset over what she said but liked the idea to gift his hairpiece, and at the time told himself it wasn't meant in the way his mother wanted.

Metal-bending is significantly more difficult than regular Earthbending. Toph needs to directly touch the metal to bend it, and all she can do is _literally_ bend the metal rather than freely moving it around like earth and rock. I also believe that having non-bendable objects in the way inhibits bending, which is why Toph can't bend the earth underneath the building for example.

Korra is a hit or miss compared to ATLA. It's a bit more mature of a story (like Book 3) but also very different in almost every aspect. I liked the first season but lost it after the 2nd. You don't build an epos like ATLA to throw it overboard the next series you do. I don't know... As I said it's a hit or miss on a personal level. It's a good show, but not so much for me as a sequel.

After buying time for some to escapes, it sure looked like there was a few times he could have hoped on fang and flew out of there. I get it, thats the issue with prequel/backstory re-tellings, your trying to show how we got to the original property, (and I'm not solely referring to this, star wars and the hunger games come to mind). Because don't get me started on how they were able to wipe out all the air nomads in 4 different temples, with one of them being upside down before the age of the blimps, in the short time of the comets effects.

Sozin knew of the comet and it’s powers since he was 16 and was planning a global takeover since then. Sozin also learned of fire flight when he was 16 and is like 90% for sure what he taught his army to ambush the air nation. You have a deep lack of understanding of lore I suggest reading reckoning of roku and learning some more :)
@fsociety7494
@fsociety7494 3 күн бұрын
@@DrowsyKodi The extent that people will go to defend whatever particular IP is laughable. Bringing up that sozin knew of the comet and its effects since he was 16 is pointless. No one said the fire benders where not overpowered by the effects of the comet, and as it was seen with every bending style, there are levels to the individuals skill and abilities regardless of what they are taught. Logic dictates that even if sozin would have sent out troops to each of the 4 temples to a coordinating attack during the "5 Minutes" that the comet powers them up, the likely hood of them wiping them all out, again especially in the western air temple, where it would have been a task for them to even enter the temple in any significant number in that time. Hard to believe none of them in any of the locations would have hoped on there sky bison and took to the air, for again the brief time of the comets effects. Funny how this turned into an air nomad thing, when my initial comment had everything to do with roku continually fighting a volcano, when he could have got out of there. Anyway, great series.
