Schmee I wanna ask you some questions about this project and because I respect your knowledge I would love to hear your opinion. 1) What parts of the original P1 will be at the final car? I am asking this because what's the point of buying this wrecked car when he changed his original motor, abstracted the hybrid systhem, changed the exterior panels and the interior parts? 2) Why wouldn't just bought a second hand 675 (or something) and just put all these new parts on to this? Honestly, I don't get the point of this project besides the hype and the views in youtube. Am I missing something important here?
@LuigiNathan10 ай бұрын
Not to sound sarcastic but if I own a S15 and put a RB26 in, does that make it a GTR? Correct me if I'm wrong but the only changes he's making is removing the electric motor, widened body and bigger motor. Therefore it still remains a P1.

@@KalepsisI think you missed my point. If all you wanted was an extra long-range fuel tank, you don't make it removable. An empty tank weighs almost nothing. You just build it in and use it when you want to. There's no need for silly plug-in/plug-out solutions which are notorious failure points and completely unnecessary if the tank adds negligible weight penalty. Apart from that, I think your idea is pretty good.

There are quite a few oddities around the P1 with regard to the chassis production v. VIN tag numbers. There are two P1s with the VIN ending in 33 - basically an error in the tooling of the data plate - they've identical spec, and were bought by the same customer; one is road-licenced, the other is only used on track. I actually saw them both together at Brands Hatch. There were 4 carbon tubs that were destroyed in-house after an ultrasound inspection revealed many stress cracks that happened post-installation, not during manufacturing. After the dismantling of the major parts, an engineer came up with the idea to re-purpose the bespoke carbon fiber tub pieces as momentos, such as luggage tags, desk nameplates, etc
