After she punches him, he laughs at her and says "it's not my fault you broke your hand. You should have known better." And then Charlie takes Jake's side. I feel so much for Jacob, although yes his behaviour and trying to impose his belief on Bella is plain toxic. It's hard to accept even out of love that the one you love chose something else than you. It's hard when you believe that they are just not admitting their feelings for you just so they could commit to their decision to choose something else. With a lot of suffering and self-control, (at 24yo) I managed to live with that, to force myself to be respectful to the one I love, so I would understand and forgive Jacob (at 17yo) for being unable to do it.
