My own review of this episode. 1. Well for starters Horace Ford is definitely a serious mental case! A psychiatrist would probably diagnose him as a paranoid schizophrenic. Why would a guy be so obsessed with his early life as a nine or ten year old? He's also mean, rude, self centered, immature, psychotic. 2. My theory is that Horace never actually went back in time but it was a group of spirit guides he encountered, who were attempting to get Horace.....well.......to grow up! To stop living in the past. The spirits made him look like a kid. Herny Brandt isn't the real Henry Brandt at all but a spirit guide posing as a kid. How else could everybody else see the kid? 3. The main issue with the episode is that the story rehashes both Walking Distance, Trouble With Templeton, Young Man's Fancy. The only difference is that the Gig Young character in Walking Distance-while admittedly also somewhat mentally unbalanced-is at least intelligent and likeable. The Pat Hingle character is very unsympathetic and often comes across as not very bright. Also unlike the nice, peaceful small town in Walking Distance is that Horace Ford's childhood place is a complete slum. A ghetto.
