I always found it oddly comforting when they all turn to “humans” for lack of a better word, towards the end. there’s something about them that seem like a family - instead of the world feeling so ugly, and awful as it often does in thriller/horror, it felt grounded. not every aspect of it had to be this horrible thing. i’m sorry for explaining this poorly.

It's easy, imagine if you will, being an employee of a company, any company, and you must never think of the brief times you are almost free, those short times you must compete with other employees to win, that the owners can take away whenever they wish. Love the new hair colour! Twilight Zone isn't really something I watched so every episode is new to me. I knew it existed, but other than that it went completely under my radar. The thing that made the least sense to me in the whole episode was the fact that she (as a mannequin) wanted to buy a gift for her mother! Did she talk herself into believing she must have a mother? Did she have an actual person in mind when thinking 'why yes, that's my mom'? And how did she know that this very specific golden gift is something her imaginary mother would enjoy? I demand answers!

In terms of the sequel series, the 80's series was the best followup and ran for 3 seasons. It helps that it had some well known horror writers behind it. The 2000's series with Forest Whitaker was okay but it kinda lacked the bite of the earlier series. It still had some strong episodes, including the pilot. I'd look for the pilot 'Evergreen' and go on from there. The Jordan Peele show was simply okay but when it missed, it really missed. The hour long format did make some episodes drag. Season 2 was better, but it was too little too late at that point.
@vianjelos2 жыл бұрын
@@AveryTalksAboutStuff you think part of the issue with the Latest remake was the run time? The original seires did try hour long episodes in its 4th season but that season was seen as a failure and the 30 minute run time came back for the final season. I think basically the twilightzone works better in shorter episodes..too much run time in shows can be a bad thing as it slows down pace and can feel like there is too much filler added to pad the time. Twilightzone the original was very concise with a limited cast each episode, it didnt need to add different plot lines or elements to fill time the stories were linear and percise, nothing was added that didnt play a role later no conversations or actions done unnessearily and the plot had the perfect amount of time to unfold while also feeling satisfying not too fast not too sluggish. I did like the 2000s and the 70s remakes for what they were..but they will never hold a candle to the original. Never saw the peele version tho.
