Those close-ups on the mannequins always freaked me out as a kid. And the way they called Marcia didn't help.

This was always my favorite episode because the twist ending is actually kinda wholesome.

BEGINNING of Story: This episode scared the crap out of me when I was a little girl. Now, my granddaughter is 6 years old. It is her favorite episode. Rod Serling was a genius. END of story.

I saw this episode when I was nine. The next time my mother took me to the department store, I watched the mannequins in the sports department like crazy! Very clever that they used the mannequin at 0:49 and then the actual lady in the panned shot. Great performance by Anne Francis!

A great episode, though I could never understand as to why Marcia thought she had a mother. (She claimed to be buying the thimble as a gift for her mother). Even if she had temporary amnesia as to whom she really was, she must have realized that she had no idea whom her mother was.

I have questions about how they're able to disappear and reappear into society so easily without anybody noticing, I mean the manager guy already knows something is up in the the end, you have a whole "how doesn't Lois realize Clark and Superman are the same person?" thing going on here.

when they said "climb off it" what does that mean?
@MrXavier7895 жыл бұрын
I think it means to just 'get off' a particular notion or idea, in this case being, Marsha thinking she's a real person
@oldyellerschannel46765 жыл бұрын
Or maybe it's "Mannequin Lingo" because Mannequins are always "Up on a Pedestal", higher up than everyone else, and maybe they were referencing that because Marcia still though she was human, that she had put herself up on a Pedestal, a Human one, and she should "Climb down off it", and come down to Earth with the rest of us.
