Continuing the expansion of our Realistic North American Cities Skylines 2 city Riverview - this time around we're improving and expanding on lots of stuff: A revamp of our Police, Fire, Hospital, and Education service coverage in an attempt to better designate districts across the metropolitan area, and ensuring that our rural communities are not abandoned. We also start an entirely new town in the northeastern part of the metro area, as well as farmland/countryside expansions, small hamlets, and more! We also develop a very cool old row-house inner-city neighborhood in the city of East Riverview, before upzoning a lot of areas in both Riverview and East Riverview, ultimately bumping the population of the metro area to +30.000! Hope you enjoy!

@@Infrastructurist i think its called brain drain! all the college educated and successful people move to larger more inner city areas for better financial opportunities. I think its happening a lot less now with businesses moving to work from home. but even that is getting slowly reversed.

I liked the rural crime and abandonment. Being from middle-US, it's quite true-to-life. I'm curious if C:S2 differentiates crime by type, bc I could see petty crime being more common in rural poor communities with little opportunity for education or work.

I think you have made the most natural looking city of any of the early access CS2 KZbinrs. I think you have a really good balance of trying to be realistic but organic with the build and budget, planning but not overplanning, doing detailing but not obsessing about it, going back to old areas and upgrading them when it seems to be the right time, using the terrain, playing/experimenting with the options and having a bit of a backstory/history to the city. Love how you do the timelapses over the more tedious sections road laying/zoning sections but still show what you are doing. Maybe a few videos down the line but would like to see another big city way up the other end of the video with a train line linking them at some point and maybe a heavier industrial area somewhere.

Oh and that terraced area which you re-did in this video on a slight slope with a park in the corner, there is an area near where I live (though in the UK) which looks really similar to how you did that.

My suggestion for Blackbird Terrace is The Stairwell. Originally it would have had a different official name, but it got that nickname because of the uniform roofs looking like stairs down to the river. Probably disparagingly at first, but it became a badge of honour as time went on.

I noticed that you have used alleys in residential areas. However, their description indicates that they do not have sidewalks. Would it still be possible for Sims to use the alleys to walk to the bus stops you have placed in this episode? Maybe this is why the usage of new bus lanes is so low.

You could try using gated communities district policy to reduce crime in those outskirt upscale neighborhoods. Also, Pinewoods would be a cool name for the small row house district coming from the old roads looking a lot like pine tree branches and the large forest to the north and south by the college. The highway you fixed now can't get on the national highway from the other direction now!

Thank you for continuing to build out this city! It's definitely one of my favorites to watch! One thing you could do for the rural area districts is expand out the small-town districts to cover the farm land. In the US, these rural areas would be covered by the closest MUD zone, which is typically the closest incorporated town.

I could see as realistic for Chestnut to get all levels of educational buildings and a small police and fire station as it expands, and for the outskirts like palmer way to get perhaps a middle and elementary school to service them all (since college education is usually reserved for bigger cities), having educated people could also help you build a workforce to switch from industrial to tertiary zoning like offices. I can't wait to see what you'll do with Mill bluff too! This is hands down the most realistic and pretty city in CS2 so far. Kudos!

Suggestion for Blackbird Terrace: During WW1, a military academy was established in an old manor near the small hamlet of East Riverview. Barracks were constructed adjacent to the academy to accommodate the cadets during their training. The young soldiers soon coined a name for this area, referring to it as "Erica's Barracks," which was an abbreviation for 'East Riverview Cadets' Barracks.' The military academy later evolved into East Riverview College, and "Erica's Barracks" transformed into dormitories for the students.

The Best place for a Dam on this map is the southwest River with two cliffs on either side. Near your Ravenwood Gardens district. It produces hundreds of megawatts for me and doesn't flood the land. You can also place it down with a curve, making it look fairly epic!

Wow! I am extremely impressed by your ability to recreate very realistic population patterns and city/town management. Your use of districts is unique and I am going to steal your technique! As an American who has lived most of my 60 years in small towns, I can definitely say you get small town living and yes, your bus routes to the outer communities is very realistic and would be more so if you could choose less and smaller buses, but the game doesn't allow that right now. Again, wow!

I can’t wait to see what you come up with next, and I’m excited for your euro country build too! You have become one of my favorite creators for CS:2 content! 😊 I love the fact that you aren’t focused on perfection, and your starting point becomes the future downtown, inner city, super dense areas, etc. This feels so much more realistic to me! I’ve not watched many creators with this approach, and I love the effect it’s had on your build. Not to mention your assessment of American cities and services is not only hilarious, but it’s so spot on 😂 Love your content and channel, subscribed! ☺️

Birdsong Corner -> Goldentree: Originally a small hamlet settled by Mormons migrating West, named for the beautiful golden autumn leaves of the trees around the town, much of it was demolished and redeveloped in the 1970s into a typical American suburb by developers. However, after the 2008 Financial Crisis, most of the town fell into disrepair and abandonment.

Set close to the city center with a peacefull view on the river, trying it's best to help reintegrate and rehabilitate those who suffered for a distinct cause. The memoriam in the middle of the district lists all those Riverwood Soldiers who fell during WWII and Vietnam. With more and more elder veterans diying of old age, the students start to take over.

Rename Blackbird Terrace to "Bridgeway Gardens". At the turn of the century, the rapid industrialization of Riverview led to crowding conditions and squalor in the industrial and inner city areas. With the completion of the newly constructed Bedford Street bridge, more affluent families of wealth would venture to the eastern shores of the river and go on to establish East Riverview. Bridgeway Gardens was one of the first neighbourhoods established by the founders of East Riverview, and a triumph in urban planning at the time.
