Sanga hit the nail on the head and said out loud what a lot of us have known and said before. This runs deep- it's not simply a question of giving the board the independence to do things right and professionally. SL runs on a patronage system thats impossible to break unless there's actual political and public will. Only then can you truly overhaul the system. We succeeded in spite of this system, not because of it, and now that that flash in the pan has worn off, we see the results. It all comes down to the brand of politics Sri Lankan society tolerates and takes part in- that's where this starts. No one's innocent here- not Ranasinghe, not Ranatunga, not Harin, especially not Shammi and the gang that run SLC like their personal property, not even Mahela who came in for a stint.

we've really gotten used to getting disrespected from indians who've forgotten that sri lanka bowled out india for 54 in 2000 too. this small island nation with only 21 million people has produced many great cricketers that would be on anyones top lists. sangakkara aravinda de silva mahela sanath jayasuriya tm dilshan murali malinga chaminda vass nuwan kulasekara ajantha mendis rangana herath we will come back. better and stronger.

And you cant fix it. Everyone knows everyone and because of how rotten the entire political system is and how it's invaded every space in society, there's no way to truly give the SLC independence. There's always going to be political interests at play.
