We so often here the phrase 'National Treasures' used ubiquitously. Compare the modern rubbish like Ant and Dec to these utter geniuses who wrote and performed original material from start to finish, with optimum comedic value. May they both rest in eternal peace ❤❤❤. Thank you for the laughs, and the memories 👍

@@gilloselton824 You are right. I left England 32 years ago as I couldn't find a job as a chemical engineer. But, I brought with me a lot of commedies such as On The Buses & watch them to have a good laugh. The British commedies are priceless!

It was a wonderful era growing up here in the States and getting to watch British comedy on Sunday evenings on our local PBS station WTTW 11. Benny Hill, Monty Python, The 2 Romnies, Dave Allen at large, ending with Dr Who. Better days. Better times.

not only was it the last Festive episode, but the last ever apart from the look back best sketches when the 2 reunited in the 2 Ronnies Sketch book in 2004. Comedy masters at it's best. i have the complete collection on a 27 disc box set, and never get bored watching. I just weep when comedy on TV today is so poor and stupid, classics never die, R.I.P to both Ronnie Corbett & Barker

John Cleese, Michael Palin, Spike Milligan all wrote for the show. Ronnie Barker was the main writer. They all started from The Frost Report. David Frost was a big mover and shaker. Started a lot of famous careers. Including Monty python.

Elton John was amazing here. Candle In The Wind always reminds me of the icons Marilyn Monroe, Princess Diana and now of course the legends themselves The Two Ronnie's! I think somebody should make The Two Ronnie's a compilation CD of all their funny songs in tribute to them. I bet it would reach no 1 on the UK charts.

Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam ." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window ? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"
