They hate the girl because she is a different vibe, different education and background. America is where everyone lets loose and speaks openly. The rest of the world has different ways of moving. Plus she's really still young and has to answer to her parents but they won't take any of it into account. As far as the grammy, stop hating, she had a hit, it worked get over it. Beyonce been putting out trash music forever but no one complains. All i would say is she just needs to focus on her dancing more because it's a highlight in her work. Peace.

There is no excuse especially for the breakfast club not to address the 'Coloured' issue. A year before Tyla was signed to Epic, Trevor Noah was seating across Charlemagne and he also said he is Coloured and no one came for him, using that term. History 101 will still not help, when those who are supposed to be the custodians of African American intellect opt to chase click that educate their audience. Its not even 2 incidents, Tyla has been accused of: * Abusing 'Black' Vulture, yet she sings all her songs using Amapiano beats. * One hit wonder, yet Tyla has released songs 5 years before water which led to Colin Gayle(Epic) recognising her global appeal. * Tyla is marketed to the Black audience, yet Tyla's streams and album sales are bigger in Europe and Asia. * Tyla shouldn't have won the Grammy, BET and VMA, yet 5 of her singles are streaming over 100 million each(Water = 800 million streams & 49+ weeks no.1 Billboard Afro Charts) * Tyla is a culture vulture, yet 7 months after her album drop, she has won all notable world entertainment awards, co-Best dressed @ Met Gala, has Agreements with top European Brands, Versace, Balmain, Gucci and received 3 film scripts. * Tyla rejects her Blackness, yet belongs to an ethnic group of Coloureds(Khoisan/Mixed/Bushmen/Hottentots), who are thee oldest living tribes, speaking thee oldest language of Njuu, residing in thee oldest region on earth recognized as thee cradle of human kind.

First, Trevor Noah has never identified as Coloured. He specially said Coloured is a culture created by Apartheid and that he does not belong to that culture as his father is Swiss German and his mother is Xhosa/Mfengu Black South African. Secondly, Coloureds are majority Indian, Malay, Dutch then Khomani/Nama (Khoi and San respectively) and other African ethnicities.

The inventors and contributors of Uppity is the black Americans, and they with the some Nigerians and South Africans are implanting hate to her as a Coloured South African. Marginalized the Coloured in the new dispensation of South African politics. Arrogance...creates animosity! Disrespectful blackness...

The Term Tyle used refers to how she identifies. Tyla knows her background, she has stated she is coloured. In SA this means a person of mixed heritage . In Tylas case she has Zulu, Indian. Mauritian roots. she has never denied having african or black roots. People just want her to pick a side, but in her case she is mixed. She knows who she is and stands strong. its sad how in this age people want to highlight her ethnicity or race.

@@sherwoodla6535It doesn’t have the same weight in South Africa though. And Tyla knows, that’s the reason why she actually doesn’t really use her identity like that in the US. However, is asked, she will explain everything, including her understanding that it doesn’t mean the same thing in her homeland.

I think the hate is more so on how much Tyla has been pushed as a new artist in the award ceremonies. She won 7 awards and a grammy. There are artists who been in the game for years and never won. Yes Tyla is poppin, but she didnt need to win for genres like afro beats. She doesn’t make afro beats, said it herself. She’s a great artist, but she’s still new and needs to gain her rep. Whoever over her is making sure she win no matter what 😂

I agree she shouldn’t be winning Afrobeats awards, but please note that the only Afrobeats award she’s won was the VMA and it was fan voted. It’s really MTV that is to blame for misclassifying her music however she has garnered a decent sized fanbase that will vote for her no matter which category she’s put in.

Then award hate is misdirected. Why not hold those institutions accountable??? Are you just gonna hate every single person who wins an award in a category they’re not supposed to be in? Because these award people put the artists in the specific categories. Hold your institutions accountable
@elroyswarts513
@elroyswarts513 Ай бұрын
@@phedisolatakgomo6964The hate has literally nothing to do with the awards and her receiving an award for a category she technically doesn't belong to. The hate is because of her racial identity and the fact that she keeps winning awards even after they tried doing all they can to cancel her all because of her racial identity.
@limofootball
@limofootball 2 күн бұрын
@@teeraynee Why shouldn't she be winning afrobeats awards? It's not her fault there's no category for afropop or african music. The western media decided to group all african music as afrobeats which is a west african genre bc Nigerians were popping. If she's going to compete, she has to be placed in the african category. Either you rename the category to afropop or you introduce more categories(which is nonsense bc it's not necessary and it's expensive) or you deal with it lol.

Coloured people in South Africa are mixed race descendants of the Khoisan. The Khoisan is one of the oldest tribes in all of Africa, and before what is known as the "Bantu migration" wherein the Bantu tribes which dominate Southern Africa today migrated to the Southern Africa from Central and West Africa, the Khoisan owned all countries in the Southern region of Africa, known as Southern Africa. In the 1600's the Dutch brought slaves from Malaysia, Indonesia, Madagascar, Mozambique, Angola, and East Africa to South Africa. These slaves who at some point became free people intermixed with each other, with the Dutch, as well as WITH THE KHOISAN, and produced offspring. THAT OFFSPRING WAS LABELED AS COLOURED. This new group was then intentionally kept separate from the Bantu(black) groups in South Africa. Over time they married and reproduced amongst each other, and developed a completely new identity and culture. They also speak a language known as Afrikaans, which is essentially Dutch mixed with indigenous African languages, and because they have been mixed so many times THE COLOURED PEOPLE OF SOUTH AFRICA ARE THE MOST GENETICALLY DIVERSE GROUP OF PEOPLE ON THE PLANET. Thus most coloured people come from mixed people who come from other mixed people and it goes back many generations to the days of slavery, and ultimately to the Khoisan tribe. This is why it makes no sense to try to label Tyla or any other coloured person as just black. It is also highly offensive to actual black people in South Africa who are actually black, belong to actual black tribes, speak actual black tribal languages, and have actual black tribal customs and cultures developed over hundreds of years.
