What’s weird is, nobody is on a crazy hot streak or playing way above expectations (besides Tyrese but this is really just who he is). Turner is the same as last season, Mathurin isn’t as productive as last season, Hield has been on a cold streak, Toppin has just been ok. Nesmith and Smith have improved but those are just 2 bench players. This makes me think that they can sustain this offense, because they’re not relying on a scorching hot run. This is just who they are normally tbh.

Yup. There’s nothing unsustainable happening. This is just the product of having one player that can create a very high quality shot every play who also never tries to do anything other than create a high quality shot. No heat checks. No taking plays off. Hali’s only goal is creating a high quality shot. And he does it relentlessly regardless of who is guarding him, when in the game it happens, who is catching his pass… It’s getting difficult to comprehend the level of offense he’s generating right now. Edit: Compare Indy to Dallas this year. They are the other top 2 offense, 1 point behind Indy (122.2 to 121.0). Dallas’s top 7 players in minutes are shooting 201-497 on threes, 41%. Pacers top 7 in minutes are 148-378, 39%. Indy is so nuclear on offense, that even with a little less help from three pointers, they’re still a whole point better. If anything, it’s fair to predict the gap between the Pacers and everyone else will get wider as shooting regresses towards the league average 3pt%.

I'm a Lakers fan and I knew this team was gonna blow up. You don't have to be a fan, you just need to follow the NBA and know that Hali Brown and Toppin were top 5 on transition buckets, Haliburton was gonna improve, you have Hield as a shooter and Mathurin as a future top 5 scoring wing. What's surprised me most about the Pacers' offense is they've finally figured out how to score when faced against zone defenses. This has rounded out their game to such as degree that they can now play a 3-pronged offense - post, mid-range and perimeter - and be practically unstoppable because defenses have a hard time guarding all 3 methods of play.

This type of play reminds me of how people were saying that the nuggets were the model team. They took Jokic and built a team around him of role players. That team made it to the playoffs off of that. The Pacers are doing the same thing with Tyrese now. They are building a team specifically around him and his playstyle. I know this is not a novel concept, but they are doing it well enough that I felt like it had to be mentioned

Real ones knew the Bruce Brown contract was great from the beginning. It's a two year with the second being a team option so they can choose to keep him or let him go after this season. It was a lot of money, but Pacers have a lot of rookie and cheap contracts so they had to hit their salary minimum. It doesn't hurt them in any way, shape or form. Besides that Bruce has been on great teams and a championship culture. He's not great at one thing, but he does everything well so you can essentially plug and play him in any lineup. That fits well with the Pacers deep bench and numerous combinations of lineups.

Yes the pace is amazing, let’s not forget playoff basketball slows down the game becomes more physical and it’s hard to beat a team four times in the playoffs especially when you have pace and no defense. Now they go get a couple of veterans guys that can defend and play at that pace then we are talking about true contenders.

Is Hali someone you want to take the last shot? Not dissing, just curious as I don’t get to see a lot of Pacer games. Thanks

Both obi and brown averaging 11 points on 45 plus field goal any team in nba would love have 2 players that average 11 points

They're playing Luka ball except Halliburton is in great shape and can run on pace (if not faster) with the rest of the team in transition which Luka cannot 😂

as a pacers fan, i thought going into this season we made great acquisitions, but are paying brown too much... with that being said, based off their social media and the offseason, this summer i knew they were going to be fun to watch, but holy shit have they exceeded die hard fans expectations. this is our new beat the heat team. people dont understand how an entire state gets behind a team unless its indiana and basketball. GO CERS!
