I played the hell out of this game 5+ years ago. Met a great friend that taught me a lot about the game and always seemed like he had true wisdom in life. Never knew much about him outside of it but he went M.I.A one time and never came back, His steam had his name and his state; so I decided to google him one day and learned that he was killed by police during a mental breakdown. Pretty shocking to me because he was always a great guy on the games but wow did this video bring back memories.

What I always found interesting is that you can never play as "the other team" (I think OpFor were called Czervanians or something like that), you're always forced to be the U.S army from your own perspective, so everyone's technically using the same guns but when you go and pick up an enemy weapon it's an eastern bloc type weapon, mostly AK's and they had different stats to that of the M4/M16/etc... Not sure if this is still a feature, but one of the coolest features of the og AA game was being able to take optional but really detailed Special Forces Green Beret training (that was actually really friggin difficult!) in order to unlock much better weapons and perks. I really wish we had a modern game that would implement a mechanic like that where only the most dedicated and elite players could grind to actually "be elite" in the game. this game is actually pretty good on console, PC feels very weird tho tbh (It could just be bcuz it was when I first started playing PC so), the problem is it hasn't been updated in years. so les u have pc it's just the same maps constantly. but the maps are REALLY good tho, many avenues to go, much like a MW2 map size, minus the field space. There's also a bug (Idk if it still works but) if u equip a locked skin for ur gun and back out of loadout, it'll let you use the skin for a match but will reset once the match's done
