Can we keep a Republic with a 2 party system? No. Two is not nearly good enough. Two is the same as one when both can be purchased for a price by the same entity. That entity then becomes the one ruler. I think the right to form a political party should be abolished.

The same "them" that throughout history have overwhelmingly been providing "bread & circuses" to the masses. But unfortunately due to citizens united (though it was only the straw that broke our elections back) and the flood of "dark money" it's exceedingly difficult to give names, amounts, etc. But ask yourself "Que Bono?"
