When I went to Disneyland in June, I was surprised by how disappointing the ears were and how ridiculous the prices were. I did snag a pair of Coco ears because the embroidery was stunning, but the rest of the ears looked so low quality. Thank you for another great video, Emily! :)

Can u do a review of some of the best looking disney official mouse ears? My favorites include the original maleficent ears and the coach ears. Also do an updated showing of ur collection of ears both official and not.

I complete agree with you! Disney hires some of the best designers out there and they have ALL of the resources...I think sometimes they are lazy and just feel people will buy it because they made it.

The first time I saw a picture of the Jasmine ears, it took me a while to realise that part of the centrepiece is supposed to look like her headband. The bow is still puzzling though. For some reason it reminded me more of Dumbo, I think it’s because the two halves of it remind me of the shape of his yellow hat.

I happen to like the ears with 3D things in the center. Personally, I think it’s nice to see something other than bows and flowers on the centerpiece. I do agree that the marvel ears were… bizarre. Asymmetrical is in style right now - check out Betsey Johnson earrings for reference. Thanks for all the tutorial videos!

I remember when I was wearing my doughnut ones from you at Disneyland, there were some doughnut ones that were popular that were official and the ones you had made were far and away superior to the ones Disney produced. Not even from a quality perspective (though that was suspect) but just from the design alone! Yours are a classic, pink doughnut and theirs was like...weirdly see through/plastic? Which I get why plastic but why not make them more opaque?? It was hard to tell what they were from a distance. As you said, totally behind on the small shops or just ripping off the idea but worse.

The inside metal tag being pressed up against your head the oils from your hair and scalp and the rubbing against your head will tarnish it pretty quickly and hair will get caught in it

Hi Emily. Great to see you. Very exciting you and Sarah will be going to Disneyland. I would agree that you are an ear expert and qualified to speak on the subject. BTW your headband template has done wonders for me. It is extremely helpful. The King Arthur ears are a bit over the top. I too can see tassels hanging all over your forehead. It would tickle or itch I am sure. I can't believe and don't understand why Disney puts a hefty price tag on certain ears. Like who is going to pay the price of a multi-day park hopper ticket, for a pair of ears? Crazy. Have fun on your trip. ~Ali 🎀🏰💖

I almost felt bad for Disney when you showed the side by side comparison of your ears to the Disney beignet ears. Theirs just looked garbage beside yours. Then I remembered that Disney is a multibillion dollar conglomerate that is willing selling overpriced, crappy ears. So, yeah…. I laughed instead 🤣

OhMiGosh 😂 🤣. I love this! This is exactly why I started making my own ears! Sometimes I just pick up a pair at the parks and just wonder who thought that was a good idea, lol. Have fun at disneyland!

Emily I'm not sure if you're much on twitter....but you had great timing with this video! (Platinum ears controversy) I agree with you so much though, I just want Disney to employ people to have some common sense about the merchandise they put out. So many things I saw when I was in Disney World that just made no sense or had one small thing about them that ruined the whole thing!

Those Jasmine ears don't make sense because Disney did a much better pair that baby blue sequin ears to match Jasmine's outfit and magic carpet as the bow in the center. One pair I find to be the most creative are the pizza ears in Epcot and I forget which pavilion they're sold in but I find those real creative with the toppings on the pizzas.

Out of all of these ears I liked the carousel ears the most and thought they were pretty because of the color pallet. I agree that the tassels on each side should be symmetrical, however. They could maybe add Excalibur on the other side or a tiny image of the carousel or the same horse as the other side?

The Donut Ears from Disney also have a bit of a shape issue, they are a bit droopy. Not sure if it's just the ones I've seen or all of them 🙈 since there are soo many official Disney ears out there I think there are more ugly design's then you've mentioned. But in Disneyland Paris you don't really get much variety so I haven't seen many of them in person but the ones I see there I never liked enough to buy, one exception made for the 30th anniversary chip and Dale ears. That's the only nonen selfmade pair that I own 😂

I bought the Thor ears because I'm such a fan of the character, and I agree I was disappointed when I put them on and saw how badly they sit. I'm glad I have them for fandom/memory reasons, but yeah...they could have bee thought through much better

The Thor ears are SO funny. I bought them for an upcoming mnsshp since I’m going as Jane foster Thor and I immediately cut off the pillow topper. They literally sat a good half inch off my head with a visible gap and I have straight hair. I can’t imagine curly haired people trying to put these on!

When you take ears to the park, do you wear them all the time or do you have a little clip or something that you use to attach them to a bag? I've never worn ears in the parks (I have a very sensitive head) but I have made ears for my nieces (we are going to Disneyland in the next week) and I was thinking I need to make some sort of thing so they can attach them to a bag to keep them safe when they are not wearing them. Do you have suggestions or a tutorial on this?

Haha! Disney has these yellow sequin ears that are so low quality. I couldn't believe it. The sequins are an ugly matte with a yellow satin and they were real floppy, all the pairs I saw and the sequins seemed like the were falling off. I call them the bile ears, lol.

Also for the Belle ears, they didn’t even bother flipping the image for the left ear in the photo. Like she’s winking on the same side of her face, so you can’t even see her eyes in the one ear. So lazy

The original description of the ears needed to be run through Standard and Practices. After Twitter pointed out the double entendre, they fixed it.

I loved this video. Thank you for saying what we’ve all been thinking. I don’t own any official Disney ears because I can’t justify spending all that money on ugly, low quality ears. I love your ears and get at least 5 compliments a day whenever I wear them (I’m a grateful magic key holder, so I go pretty often). I can’t wait to buy more of your designs. I'm sure you've seen the latest controversial ears. Not because they're about $180 but because they look.. uhmm.. the most polite way I can call them is 'white drip'. Disney pulled them recently because of the controversy. Haven't had one like this since the 'stay crazy' pillow.

I was really disappointed with the mickey the main attraction Peter Pan ears. They could've been adorable but the center hat is just bad. It is floppy in all the wrong ways.
