@johng.64733 жыл бұрын
Is it just me or is Robin lopez constantly traveling on these plays?
@boosterh11133 жыл бұрын
He isn't really travelling, it is just that his pivots are as ugly as his hook shot. The rules say you have to keep a foot planted, and most players will keep the ball of their planted foot down and spin around on that single point of contact. Lopez instead rotates around the middle of his foot, lifting his heel or toe as needed, based on which way his weight is going. When you watch it in real time, you swear that he is stepping, because your brain registers that there is no single part of his foot that stays planted. But, if you slow it down, there is no single instant that you can point to and say "There, that is when his pivot foot stepped." This is exacerbated by the fact that he is a big, slow man, and so his legal gather+2 for the shot end up taking about 3 times as long as the average player (and usually don't follow in rhythm, either).
@johng.64733 жыл бұрын
@@boosterh1113 1:30-1:38 I’m pretty sure he changed pivot feet there. I see what you are saying though. I had to rewatch the move at 0:50 a few times because I had first thought that was a travel but it’s a jump stop into a shot
