Consider interlocking rubber floor mats sold at Walmart, Home Depot and Amazon . Some even come in different colors. MUCH easier on the knees and easy to take apart and clean. They also have the added benefit of insulating better than just vinyl flooring.

No problem!! And thank you for watching!! I think sometimes sharing things like this seems weird because it is exposing the dirty side of what happens sometimes and as people we are programmed to not want to publicly share that. However I vowed to always share the realities and with that sometimes comes the road dust, the unorganized stuff and the failed project here and there. I am happy to be able to share so that others can maybe see what I encountered and have a relatable point and know it is ok to not be perfect all the time!!

I have some packing cubes and have used them previously for jackets. I liked them ok but found that in some trips I was needing to access daily which is why I had them hanging. I always keep a few layers accessible as I change locations from higher to lower elevation. I ended up buying a mid weight coat on this trip and it ended up being used regularly. The larger coat tucked away into itself in the front seat in front of the water.

I will likely share the install and other projects I am working on all at once. Tends to be better to just show the little stuff together rather than in dedicated videos. I love this shirt, it is comfy and slightly oversized so I can certainly sleep without feeling like it squishes up or holds me in a bear hug...lol.. I appreciate your ability to express yourself genuinely, and so well spoken. Then I can have a clean/fluffy (but washable) rug for the evening/night/morning when I'm inside the van. I fold it up in the morning with the clean side in so it stays clean and stuff it under the bed (or if I'm somewhere really dusty, I put it in a bag first). Your cleaning maintainance is super. If you go in areas you can experience freasing temperatures, check with your dealer about putting silicon spray wax on the door mouldings. Do not use that kind of wax on anything you may paint in the future though. Doors can frease shut if the mouldings are damp. I also just tap the down button for a second so the windows do not frease in their up position overnight. In the morning, before heading out, just hit the up control. You only need then down a thirty second of an inch. (just a little bit) to prevent freasing, in my opinion.

I think that trusting your gut when traveling is a huge part of conquering fear! Despite the fact that there are some bad people out there I have found far more good than bad in my travels. I always tell people if you are interested in travel to think smart about where you stay and find your level of comfort. If that means stopping at a national park or state park to stay instead of BLM land then start there. There are rangers and services and it allows you to start to feel at ease with the travel.

I currently do not have a heat source because I move with weather and rarely need it. I use the noggle to pump heat back to the back from my front seat when needed and usually use layers to keep myself warm including covering my head, hands and feet. When it has been colder I turn to my tent camping hacks using hand or toe warmers, adding a blanket or boiling water to make a warmer bottle to add to my layers.

What is your new adventure?? I agree.. the ugly side of the cleaning and reorganizing is something that a lot of people don't consider when starting their van journey... I try to always show that side also because I want anyone who watches my videos to see the cool things but also the real things that are out there that have to be done... and sometimes that isn't the pretty stuff...lol..

I am a 76 year old "ex" van owner that still enjoys the adventure. I do that through watching channels like yours, so thank you for sharing your life with me. That said, I think you offer something that I don't often find on the other channels...... I love the way you express yourself. You make me feel like you are talking to just me. Your narration seems to flow so easily. Have you ever considered writing? It takes a real talent to make this type of video interesting as well as informative and you made it look so easy. Thanks for all you do...stay safe.

If you still have that flooring, i have that type in my RV, and i taped the seams together with 1in. gorilla tape and it keeps it from separating. Mine looks like Moroccan tiles so the tape is disguised in the pattern.
@BunnyPlaysHere
@BunnyPlaysHere 2 жыл бұрын
I had to take mine out simply because it also had some issues with moisture. I noticed that in addition to it starting to separate it also started to get spongy where I would put my shoes. The moisture from my shoes every day overtime made those towels deteriorate. It’s hard to see in the video but that is why ultimately I did decide to dispose of them.

To possibly avoid scrubbing most of your floor, maybe try adding a rough cloth under any flooring. You pull the rugs/flooring out and the cloth will be thin enough to throw in a washing machine. (rough, so no slip).

Absolutely!! I think that is the best thing about van life.. it isn't always exactly how we think it will be when we start out.. sometimes it throws a couple of loops in there just to challenge us.. but along the way we keep going and it all works out in the wash.... especially when starting out with a no build like I did there were a few hiccups along the way with determining what I liked or didn't and still I find things I want to change even after building my bed and thinking that would be it... keeping that flexibility mind set goes a long way!!! :)

Thank you! I always remember the door seals… They seem to get really nasty LOL so at least once a week I’m trying to wipe them down… Especially whenever I’m traveling through the dust it is very peaceful to know that you’re maintaining and keeping things in a tidy order. Things in a van can move around a lot and sometimes they can look cluttered and with that it can make your mind extremely chaotic when you wake up or go to bed. Having it where it’s freshly cleaned and smelling like it is freshly cleaned also really helps!

Absolutely I think that a lot of times we put pressure on ourselves to do so much more than we are capable of and in the meantime we limit ourselves because of our fears and phobias. It’s important for us to realize that we have the abilities that we do for a purpose and a reason and we can conquer great things despite sometimes not having to self belief. We just have to take the steps toward realizing that we are more powerful than we even know.

I think it’s always important to treat your van as you’re home because it is an in our homes we wouldn’t want to leave things out of place because it would get dirty and cluttered and the same thing happens in your van. So just taking extra time here and there to do those little maintenance things really goes along way. At the end of the day dirt is going to find you no matter what because you were driving around so I deep clean every so often is just what the doctor ordered
