What do you do when you hang up an expensive bait from the bank? Ive been into this a bit and lure retrievers almost can't be used unless they're near the bank or you're high up. I'm debating on dropping down to 6" and under baits and spending 40 or less on a bait because I keep losing them. I go through 6 hudds before the beginning of summer. What do I do? Im afraid to fish my tiny klash

I am new to big swimbait fishing but I’m a decent crank bait fisherman and I noticed when they come unbuttoned you’re rod is straight for a split second. I think you might have too stiff a rod and that’s why I use long fiberglass rods and keep them high and bent. I have lost fish while reaching for the net. Watch this in slow motion and you can see your rod is not bent enough when they get off.

Fish Boy personally for me, when it comes down to soft baits, I like the round reels the best but you can’t beat those tranxs these days!
@crazybassfisher
@crazybassfisher 5 жыл бұрын
Fish Boy just depends on What reel you feel most comfortable fishing those style of baits. For me, I like low profile for glides and fast moving baits and with hudds and mags, I like the feel of the round reel in hand
@fishboy1270
@fishboy1270 5 жыл бұрын
crazybassfisher yea I also feel like I could get a lot more power on hudd fish with the 400 b because I’ve been locked up on my cardiff 300 before with a hudd but from what I’ve heard the tranX is very powerful too. But I think a TranX would be a good all around reel too. If they had a 350 5.8:1 Calcutta my worries would be gone lol.

Talk about adding insult to injury after losing your $100+/- swimbait to possibly a big fish that you rarely get to see your left to replace it. That's why I won't buy 1 that is more than $30. Bummer! Not sure what is worse losing a big bass or a big expensive swim bait, both suck I guess! I'm going broke buying savage 3d trouts and Huddleston 68's.

Bro, I empathize seeing you lose those Huds. I’m so afraid of losing my Deps 250s, i find myself retying knots every other cast…

I went and bought a white 1/2 oz chatter bait the other day specifically for our Sunday tournament and third cast it snapped my line and it was gone. So dissapointing and it wasnt a cheap one of course
