Went today to check out just how bad it could be - sure the place is in a bit of a dump of an area and the shop is a little run-down (no worse than any other backstreet pizza joint) but the pizza itself was great - staff were friendly and courteous too - really can't slag the place off

i think this is a bit harsh. Single spider crawling across the floor is not really indicative of poor hygiene. Also pizza needs to be looked / compared to similar outlets at this price point. Glancing at the menu prices were very low and it is hard to expect good quality from this price point. Places like this play a role in community , because everyone can afford this...all in all a bit harsh I think

Actually spiders are only attracted to clean environments as their primary sense is through the hairs on their bodies. Also if you get a chance to view them through a microscope, they have tiny claws on the bottoms of their feet which become uncomfortable for them if they get clogged up with dust and debris. So, yeah, one small spider who may have inadvertantly wandered in off the street is not in itself a sign of poor hygiene. Just saying. The pizzas look bloody awful, but that said no-one who asks for pineapple is in a position to be a pizza judge.

Ah now as someone who’s just moved to the Netherlands to study my masters, I’ve began a part time job in an opticians. I work in a fairly Muslim neighbourhood where often the customers don’t speak English and I try to to speak a few sentences in Dutch to get them checked in etc. I’m only in the job a week and I’m sure after a month my Dutch will be decent enough to be feel comfortable 80% of the time but… Essentially, I wouldn’t take the piss out of someone for acclimatising to a new country and culture when you don’t know what circumstances have brought them to that situation and I’m sure their doing their best. Especially considering your living in an English speaking country thinking your Christopher Columbus for ringing a pizza shop in England lol

Just a few things Macmaster..I live 10 minutes away from that particular takeaway and I wouldn’t eat from their if it was free, and number 2 the so called ham is actually turkey. It’s halal!! It frustrates me so much when halal restaurants don’t specify that’s what they are!!! How do you feel about that?

Fries (chips) on a pizza is actually quite common in italy believe it or not. Its on a pizza called 'wurstel e patatine' which is hot dogs and fries, and is popular with kids. I find it a bit boring though.

In Sweden pineapple on pizza is rather popular. Its called an hawaii pizza here. Chips on pizza is also very common. But then it is thin slized chips called strips. Usually on a Kebab pizza with hot garlic sauce and fries on top. Very yummy. Those pizzas did not look that good thought...

Hiya boys! Now I'm not having that one! Our DJ has also been to the worst restaurant in the UK near in London down near Buckingham Palace. Twice as second time you both wore wigs. So DB can't say he is only picked to go to the worst places. The point is which was the worst for you. This pizza place or the cafe down in London? The spider couldn't help being there. Ive shopped in the ethnic shops in Hyson Green for years and have never had any problems. Im not sure that your review is fair as a quick look at the Tripadvisor page shows that the rating is based on only 8 reviews and the 4 one star markings are for questionable service not the food.

@@LanzaJB Heaven forbid that this was about ethnicity and to this point the ownership of the store hasn't been an issue. One could be forgiven for thinking that you went to Hyson Green/Radford to give this Pizza shop a good kicking. If you had bothered to read the Tripadvisor page you would have seen that 4 of 8 reviews related to percieved bad service. The quality of the food apparently makes you throw up but no one else seems to have a problem with it. A solitary spider isnt a big issue and Nottingham City Council seems to be happy with hygiene standards.

Pineapple does NOT belong on a pizza, it's just wrong. However, done right, chips on a pizza can be quite good (if unusual). I don't know about the rest of the UK, but here in the North East we have something called a London Pizza, which is simply a basic Margherita with a portion of chips and extra cheese on top - and it's surprisingly nice cold for breakfast the next day. And yes, I can imagine how repulsed some people would be to see a spider crawling around a takeaway, but think about it; spiders prey on other creepy crawlies like flies and ants, so they're keeping the insect population at bay. How would you have felt if you'd seen a cockroach scuttling about instead?

Oh in Australia there is pelican rocks ,fish and chips .literally won the best in nsw .twice .out at green well point .... You will also find Australian pizza shops besides the regular chains .some get fancy and interesting ...you'll also get kabab shops . .pub feeds you get high end vs out of freezer ,fried slaped on a plate lol ..nothing worst than wasting money when you looked forward and its so disappointing..

The pizza industry, especially the cheaper alternatives, are known for using cheese analogues. These are a blend of fats and dairy substances to create a fake cheese taste, texture and feel. A lot of processed cheeses are produced like this to cut costs. Probably why some are more disgusting than others. But those pizzas even looked disgusting.. yuk.
