Hello everyone, welcome back to our channel! Today, we are going to take you on a journey back in time and revive a 16th-century Ukrainian beverage. Get ready to discover the recipe for Varenukha, a traditional Ukrainian beverage infused with dried fruits. To start off, we have a variety of dried fruits such as apples, pears, prunes, apricots, figs, cranberries and raisins. Back in the 16th century, these were precious ingredients, carefully preserved for special occasions. Next, add dried fruits and spices to a glass jar and fill with moonshine or vodka and leave to infuse overnight, or even better for a couple of days. So, we'll add our selection of dried fruits, allowing their natural sweetness and flavors to infuse into the vodka. Then we will add our assortment of dried fruits and spices infused with moonshine into an earthenware pot and carefully seal the lid with dough and place in the oven for 12 hours. As the aroma fills the air, we can truly appreciate the rich history behind this drink. Varenukha was commonly enjoyed during festive gatherings and celebrations in Ukraine. We'll include a cinnamon stick, cloves, and a hint of allspice to enhance the taste. A night spent in a warm oven will allow fruit, allowing the flavors to mingle and intensify. This slow cooking process will create a unique depth of taste that makes Varenukha truly exceptional. And there we have it! Our 16th-century Ukrainian beverage, Varenukha, is ready to be enjoyed. Gently strain the liquid into a bottle, savoring the beautiful colors and tantalizing scents.
