Two villagers in the Donetsk region escaped the Russian occupation of their village by walking across the front line in April. Ivan Vivsyanyk, 88, had no interest in the Russian passport he was told to accept, and Lidia Stepanivna, 98, felt the same. They walked 10-kilometers to freedom.

Hello, I am am American citizen. Many months back I made a visit to The Four Points Sheraton Hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I met a couple from Ukraine; they were retired and lived in a large community in Canada where they raised contributions to build a church for Ukrainian citizens in the community. We had the opportunity to have a conversation about the current events in Ukraine. I have followed this situation closely and donate to United24. The woman was very verbal and was pleased that I cared so much about her country; her husband simply wiped tears away and said that sadly at his age there was nothing he could do for Ukraine other than donate and pray… We parted, however we bowed our heads and in silence sent a special prayer for Ukraine. I left with so many mixed feelings, however the highlight of my trip was having met these 2 Ukrainian people. Have a wonderful day.

Do you know that already over 125.000 Russian war crimes are officially documented, the number of unknown, undocumented must be much higher, especially in the occupied territories, where people are forced to accept Russian citizenship against their will! Otherwise they might be imprisoned, even tortured, or they simply no longer receive medical treatment and necessary medication or are not longer allowed to drive a car! Any expression of Ukrainian culture is forbidden there!
