THE ULTIMATE $25 CHEAT DAY!? | They Almost Threw It Away!

While nearly expired, discounted food items have made their way onto the channel on a number of occasions between our Clearance Food Challenge, expired vs fresh side-by-side taste test and first mystery menu video, never have we pitted two bakery clearance racks against each other to see which would make for the more epic cheat day feast! To create an even playing field, we each were given a budget of $25 to be spent at different grocery chains offering their bakery items at a discounted price once their sell-by dates have been reached and reveal our findings to each other on camera, taste everything, and determine which location was about to toss the more delicious, indulgent spread. Gambling with variety, value, and most importantly freshness, we each managed to score some impressively appetizing treats for equally impressive prices while other items failed to hit the mark as ‘cheat day worthy’.

FAQ’s:
Q: How do you not gain weight?
Well, we currently are but here’s a quick answer as to how we managed to do weekly food challenges for a year and a half without gaining much it:
A: Endurance sports (primarily running, cycling and some resistance training tossed in) and extreme discipline & sacrifice with our daily diets is how we manage not to gain weight. We eat mostly vegetables, fruits, some whole grains and low fat dairy on the days outside these challenges. The calories consumed in a food challenge are the only calories consumed that day and sometimes the day following as well seeing our appetites are typically shot from so much food and the thought of eating is very off putting. Two days out we are back to large amounts of vegetables and increase to maintenance from there. We also often eat most of our days calories in a smaller eating window (we frequently bounce between intermittent fasting & OMAD diet as it just seems to work with our lifestyles and eating preferences). Anyone with a larger than normal stomach capacity like us, the drive to push through the discomfort of a challenge like this, and a basic understanding of energy balance (calories in vs calories out) can do it with enough disciple and intention (not that we recommend it).
Also worth mentioning is that we do not exercise to burn the calories consumed in a challenge but rather we are able to consume higher calorie diets due to our love for endurance sports and said discipline with our daily diets.
Q: Can you make a “What I eat in a day” / fitness focused video?
A: While we’re sure that type of video will eventually make its way out there, we are only able to produce one piece of quality content with our current schedules. We’re still in the very early stages of establishing ourselves within the food challenge genre and we’re constantly experimenting & trying to improve upon our style to make our channel/challenges a unique experience. This channel in particular will most likely always primarily revolve around food challenges but, if this ever became a legitimate source of income and we were able to focus our full attention towards creating content, our goal would be to start a second channel to offer more of a look into that side of our lives. So, for now, food challenges are the name of the game.

We typically shop quite late in the evening after they discount everything for the next day and trust us we get some looks from the night crew people seeing us load up the carriage with clearance goods while they stock the shelves for the following day 🤣🤣 luckily we have no shame at this point. Yeah Id say Im feeling the Walmart spread more. Im more often in the mood for cake than cheesecake. Speaking of whoopie pies, theres a baked goods company in my area called Mrs Shirleys and they have quite the whoopie pie game with chocolate with peanut butter frosting, pumpkin spice and cinnamon roll flavors. Hi Nate and Pete, enjoyed the vid. Juniors Strawberry swirl cheesecake looked amazing. I don’t think we have Juniors cheesecake in Toronto but I’m not sure, but we definitely do have The Cheesecake Factory. I do however have The Juniors cheesecake cookbook so I guess I could attempt to make one some time. When I saw you eating the cookies it reminded me of Subway cookies, I don’t think we have Strawberry ones here but we do have raspberry cheesecake ones which are pretty good. As far as I’m concerned muffins should only be eaten the day they’re baked, anything else would seem heavy and stale to me. Nate, you have those chocolate peanut butter M&M cookies so I would say his selection is better.....but then Pete, you have those cheesecakes.....and then Pete has the chocolate chocolate cake, wait, then Nate has cinnamon rolls......my thoughts.....🤷‍♀️ 😂 Well, there goes to tell you, you both are awesome! Lol ☺🧡🤎 Ok, weird question. Are your eye prescription the same for both? I'm only asking because my twin brother has perfect eye sight and my eyes are pretty bad. It’s brutal choosing between the two even for us cause ideally it would be a hybrid of the two 😅😍 Pete’s has a stronger prescription than Nate with the glasses. Neither of us were blessed with good eye sight but Pete’s are definitely worse!

@@TheTakedownTwins Thanks for answering. Lol It's so weird that my twin has no need for glasses. I was so dominant over him when we were babies. I took every toy away from him and he took all my bruteness with a smile and went and got another toy. I may have made him cry a time or two, so I think my bad eyes and his perfect eyes are a punishment to me for being so mean. Lol I have no mean bone in my body (except for PMS time) now tho. 😂😂😂😂😂

Love you both but as a man with zero memory I need you all to have your names very small somewhere on each side of the screen 😅 I've worked with guys for months and not remembered their names. Apologies 😊 but Nate you killed it. Everyone sleeps on Walmart's discounted bakery setion especially at my Walmart. Not sure if it is the same at every Walmart but at mine the bakery is in the front and the discounted is in the very back by the ice cream.

Of course, you guys don’t need advice from anyone because you’re killing it already, but have you ever considered hiding your sub count like Will Tenny? I think potential subs may assume your content isn’t as well produced as it really is and hiding the count will curtail some preconceived misconceptions...just a thought because I think you guys deserve wayyyy more subs for the material you produce!

Seriously appreciate it! We’ve read that it’s worked in both directions for people and that sometimes it’s a real turn off and a channel never grows because of it, and occasionally it’s played in someone’s favor like Will’s. Wait. But this isn’t an expiration vs fresh video? It’s also not even a “challenge” video 😆 Additionally, the first one was a massive food challenge. The second one was an expired vs fresh taste test, and this one is somewhat of a game to see which one of us could get a sicker nearly expired spread with just $25 at different stores. All very different concepts but all featuring clearance goods. But hey, if you don’t like the ideas you don’t have to watch the videos 😁
