I’ve built a lot of rifles over the years but this is one I think will make my favorite’s list: 6mm x 47 Lapua in a WOOX Furiosa Ultra chassis around BAT Machine’s brand-new Hammerhead action! In this video I'll take you through the build materials, machining, assembly, and break in. Plus, we'll take this rifle out for some long range shooting. This is going to be epic!

That rifle was odd looking at first glance, however, the pics in the sunshine changed my mind instantly. WOW that thing is gorgeous the more you look at it, I don’t know anything about that caliber but if you’re hitting out at 1300+, I’m impressed, although all you craftsmanship and skills are top notch, and rifles are all equally beautiful.

I bought a WOOX Furiosa and I really like everything about it except the way the fore end attaches. You cannot tighten it enough to take the wiggle out, it is quite annoying. It needs to be shimmed, epoxy bedded or aluminum welded to remove the wiggle. It’s currently shimmed but I think I’ll try epoxy. They never should have made it of two pieces.

in the Ultra they fixed this by adding a third screw that attach the arca to the mono. my it's super solid

I have a Woox Ultra and I have not this problem. It is one of the best chassis I ever had: It is solid, well done and accurate.

I have a 6mm-284 wearing a Pac-Nor 1-7 twist 28" barrel. Yes it is a barrel burner and it gets hot really quick. When I need to rebarrel, I will be looking at a faster twist and longer barrel and have this one cut down for either my 6mm JDJ#2 or my 6mm TCU. My 6-284 rifle likes H4831, IMR 4350, Varget, and RL-22 which it shoots the best with 105 hybrids.

Nice build Gavin, and a cool caliber, I'm glad you resisted the temptation to ceracote the barrel. Ceracote looks good and helps hide a shiny hunting barrel, but it'll slow a barrel from cooling down by trapping heat and hence affect accuracy IMO 😮

N160 with 105 gr hybrids was my second choice behind H4350 when I had my 6x47 Lapua.

Normally I'm a bit more of a traditional European rifle kinda guy. This on the other hand is on point with the juxtaposition between the walnut and the metal. The barrel finish definitely compliments it. I'd pay good good money for a setup like that.

Love my 6x47L. I don't think it's picky at all to load for. Varget, CCI 450 and 109 Berger LRHT.

Why not 6CM? Beautiful build. I’m actually looking the Bartlein barrels in 6mm or 6.5mm and trying to choose a caliber. So many options! I can get 6x47 Wilson Dies so maybe this would be a good option! Greetings from South Africa!

Amazing to have a very accurate load so quickly, this combination really shows a lot of promise. Please permit me 1 question, why do you cut so much of the barrel thickness off , to fit a brake ???

Yes- good call!, I had to do a thorough cleaning before moving anything, typically I put down blue paper towels over the ways/saddle.

Doesn't to 6x47 and 6gt just about match each? Just the 6gt higher pressures? I went the 6gt route after moving up from yhe valkyrie and won't be changing anytime soon. Just curious

Yes, I've decided 6GT has enough powder to do what I need and no more. I decide on a bullet, velocity and work backwards to the cartridge now.

Lloks like a piece of rebar with a safety protector on it.

It's a T-Post with a protector- we used it to shoot PRS style off of, I just pulled it out of the ground, distracting in videos/photos :)

Beautiful job. Have you compared Nightforce optics with Leupold? I use both and find the former much, much brighter optics. Edit: I believe the tank-trap is called a ‘hedgehog.’

Yeah they are drunk. 1500 bucks just for a stock?? Twice the price of the rifle I’d put in it lol. Anti Bidenomics discount needs to be around 50% for my class of blue collar oil workers to afford. 6 years ago we would have bought one for every rifle. Now we are damn near on welfare lol. Seems only KZbinrs can afford these products they endorse. I never see any of this stuff and I shoot a lot of matches all over.
