if you key fob battery dies, hold the fob to the "key" logo on the side of the steering wheel area. It will let you start the car that way.

Another trick I noticed not mentioned. If you hold up/down the cruise control level for more then a couple of seconds it will increase/decrease speed in 10 km/h increments. Not sure about mi/hr increments.

… and I’ve since discovered that you can set the cruise control speed when it’s disengaged, which is quite useful when stationary at traffic lights.

This is my trick for roadtrips: You can drive in whatever mode you want (Sport, Comfort, Individual, Eco) and during road curves change to manual shifting (via the shift paddles) to gain more grip on the ground (very useful at higher speeds). After the curve, to get back to your initial drive mode, just hold the right shift paddle and voilá. There is no need to get off of the steering wheel. Another "trick" is you don't have to press the gear lever button while changing between whatever drive mode and sport or viceversa. A simple pull back on the gear lever will do the job.

you forgot launch control, select dynamic mode, select sport shift, hold down esc until it is completely off , then press on brakes and floor the accelerator car will hold at 4000 rpm then just step off brakes and away you go

WZRDish it’s a blast to drive and handles perfectly. Only caution is it is small. I’m 6’1” 190lbs. I’m comfortable in it but it feels like a two seat coupe despite the four doors.

Thanks, I learnt a couple of things here. My 2018 S3 with APR Stage 2 and downtube with a carbon fiber intake makes about 400 hp. Bad roads and little space where I live makes runs difficult. My best 0-60 mph is a 3.73. I know it could do better at a track. Recently blew out a tire on the front wheel. New tires, so I looked for a single tire my size. Could not find a tire anywhere, I bought two tires one size bigger, 245/35/19 vs. the stock size of 235/35/19. They fit both front and rear without rubbing anywhere. Suddenly my "Traction Control" light kept coming on, curbing accelleration . Took it to two dealers three times to see what's going on. Both dealers said the tires made the difference. The system is so sensitive that it picked up the 1/8th inch difference in width!. Do not go with any other size tire. Cost me plenty to find out.

Hey man, thanks for the video! FYI, several things are Prestige package only. Grocery hooks and mirror dip are Prestige only, not on Premium Plus. Also, on my 18 P+, window roll down from the fob works, but roll up does not.

Kirk Porter I have a 2016 S3 premium plus - mirror dip you can do through vcds easily, and mine had two grocery hooks strangely. Think they were dealer added though but weren’t on the sticker. That said, the trunk is so shallow due to it being Quattro, you hang a target bag in there and it’ll just sit on the floor anyway and fall off the hooks lol the cargo net is more useful tbh.

I didn't know about the temp sync thing. Most cars just have a button that says "sync". I figured the knobs were close enough that you didn't need it lol. My '16 wont close the windows from the FOB unfortunately. Thanks for the informative video

Yeah you're are totally right. Most vehicles do have a sync button. Well now you know! With the keyfob, try locking the car with the lock button on your keyfob. Then press and hold it after to see if that works.

@@TheCenterLineAuto Yep tried it multiple times. It will put the windows down by pressing and holding the unlock button but doing the same operation on the lock button doesn't do anything. After googling it seems to be a feature that can be unlocked with long coding

Look into OBDELEVEN. That’s why I’ve used in the past for my coding stuff. Just be very careful with it because if you don’t know what you’re doing with long coding you can definitely mess some stuff up.

Have you enabled it in the car settings. Go into the central locking settings and it should be there. Works for my 2015 rs3.

Great vid! Another tip: You can use the electronic park button while still in drive at say a stoplight. You can take your foot off the brake pedal, and when it's time to go, pressing the accelerator automatically disengages the park setting.

Have a tip for those who want to show off at the next stop light. Im sure you know that if you push the traction control button and it disengages some of the computer controls giving you more power and perhaps some slippage before down throttle, but if you push and hold for 3 seconds it takes off an additional layer allowing you to slip all 4 tires and then if you turn off auto on/off engine.... at a complete stop while in s mode drive, put your left foot on brake and engage throttle. She will hold 4k RPM in neutral until you release pedal break. LAUNCH CONTROL Throw in APR ECU/TCU stage 1 (799+699) and you not only can increase torque by 85 and hpw by 80 but now pass redline even hold redline with out auto upshift. Really amazing the power and shift times with 1.5 hr software install. Best bang for buck. And if you ever need to service there is nothing voiding warranty. Good luck

If you have Hill Hold Assist (aka AutoHold) and engine Auto Stop/Start, then the brakes on the car have three levels of sensor. Press gently to creep along or gently stop without activating anything. Press a little harder to activate HHA only Press harder again to activate HHA and the engine Auto Stop/Start

Very nice video bro, Came in handy as down here in Australia I've just purchased a 2020 s3 sedan in ibis white with the matrix led headlights, black styling package with every other option as well as sunroof and red stitching in the seats. I like the tip for the dipping mirrors and I just discovered in the glove compartment that the cd drive which has options for sd cards and the like is also a DVD player. These cars are really something else and after test driving my first one in November 2016, I'm glad I bought the last of this shape. Your videos have helped make it an easy decision to buy one. If you know any other tips, let us know.... My car only has 720 kms on it so I've got some driving to do!

I tried what you suggested and I’m from the UK originally (US now) so am familiar with them, I just don’t think it’s available here despite P being on the indicator stork. I believe this is for the g-force meter that the rs3 has. Perhaps I might be terribly mistaken, anyway love your vids.

@@TheCenterLineAuto I liked my S3 but it just didn't do it for me as far as exhaust note goes, that 5cyl just sounds so good. Pretty much the same car except much more available power in the RS3. That being said the S3 was better at using the available power at a wider range. You can't really floor the RS3 without going to jail. (At least not in VA)

I don't know if its just my car but my windows will not go up when I hold the lock button, I have to keep my hand on the door lock sensor for a few seconds to get the windows to come up, not a big deal but I wish I could hold the lock button like you do. I have a 2018 Premium plus.

Had my first service done and out the door I checked and the oil was overfilled and the oil was really dark too. Ended up pulling almost a quart of oil out. I thought you could hold someone like an Audi dealership to a higher standard. Guess not, from now on I'll be doing my own service, since I own this car and it's not a lease so I do care about it.

Great tips and video. Would you happen to know if the S3 comes with some kind of a valet switch or button in the glove compartment? I can't seem to find it on my 2015 S3 because my trunk handle does not seem to open the trunk, even with key fob in hand, it opens when I press the key fob button and the lever on the inside of the car but not with the handle itself. I can't seem to find any video or tip anywhere about the valet switch.

I would suggest not doing the kickdown much, not too good for the turbo or DSG, better to downshift then build boost and go

Hi, so I bought a used 2015 A3 yesterday - beautiful car, but with 54.5k miles. The used car finance guy tells me, when I've signed the paperwork - you should really buy the $2700 service contract - because these cars..."you'd have to win the lottery to make to 100,000 miles with out any major issues, that's why everyone trades them in at 50,00 miles. Besides being an asshole - is he right? What can I expect? I have the Carfax - I'm showing fairly regulary oil changes, not a lot of major maintenance. I'm thinking the 2.0T engine is reliable - heard otherwise, and everything from tranmission to water pump as likely coming expenses. Any thoughts? I love driving the car, looks great... but I can return it for $ back within 5 days, 250 miles. Thoughts??! Really appreciated.

Don’t you love how salesman bash the hell out of cars they are selling? We just bought my wife a new Toyota this year and they tried getting us to add thousands of dollars worth of service packages all while bashing the product they are trying to sell. Like wait a second, if the car is going to have all these problems why should we buy it?

It’s on accessory mode. Check engine light always lit up on that car in accessory mode.

The folding mirrors are so dumb. Such a silly way to kill a set of motors that are probably hard af to replace. For like an extra 4 inches of parking space on an already tiny car.

My tip is don’t buy 2019 and beyond. The sound is rubbish compared to 2018. Wish I stuck with the previous model. Also, does anyone else have problems with loss of power when in sports mode and ‘kick down’ at say around 70/80 mph from S7? I’ve had a 67, 18 and 19, and all three cars have been the same. Embarrassing when you go to overtake someone and lose power. Audi say there is nothing wrong with it 🤔
