No worries! I ended up loving this place way more than Puerto Escondido. Especially surf wise 😊

Digitally detox! That's a good one! May be waiting around a long time to get a taxi back, that means prepare to pay $80 to get back to the airport which is not great, is there a medical clinic if you get hurt or ambulance service??

That’s expected when going into a more rural area, to get waves like this. And no there’s no medical clinic and I’m not sure about ambulances. I’m sure you can get an ambulance from Huatulco to come but you’ll be waiting up to an hour and it’s hundreds of dollars. My boyfriend actually got hurt on the last day of surfing here, he already had chronic back pain but he pushed a little too far and ended up tweaking his back and was unable to walk. Because it was our second last day I just drove him back to our accommodation and then the next day our host (who gave us the hire car) took us to the medical clinic in Huatulco before we went to the airport. He was really helpful. If we didn’t have a helpful host like him, or a hire car, it would’ve been much harder to deal with. Just know that if you did get hurt, you could easily find a way to get to Huatulco within the hour and they have your normal medical services there. People also keep medical kits in their homes as surfing injuries are probably really common. I’m sure the community would come together to help, like they did for my boyfriend, if you were ever in that situation. But keep in mind you do sacrifice the luxury of a nearby hospital and other services by exploring off the beaten path a bit.
