Another advice. Don't use your fuel before TB50. Use your fuels for Relic farming since it's hard to get good relics for your DPS in this game. If you have the majority of your fuel in the late game, your will have a bit of an easier time to get a good set for your DPS to boost your account.

I'd say that use those fuels for newly pulled characters instead of relic farming. So you can immediately level them up. Leveling up new characters can cause a lot of burnout especially when you want to use them immediately. That's what I did to my Blade and Imbibitor Lunae, and I'm currently saving my 16 fuels for Argenti. I could also pre-farm at this point because I can guarantee him the moment he's released, but for people who are at 50-50, saving fuels is a better strategy than pre-farming. Relic farming should be the least priority when it comes to grinding.

@@Vex-sf5ri Imagine that in Genshin you could get 5 boss drops each and every time and that getting all 20 of them required for the final ascention took a single day of farming. Now also imagine that there are only 5 weapon ascention materials, one for each weapon type. And those materials are also used to upgrade talents. Talent books don't exist. Regional weapon materials don't exist. Prefarming is much easier for any future characters. Those domains reach their max level at TB60. So it's best to save your fuel (fragile resin) until that point. Use you fuel primarily on character and weapon ascention materials. It's hard to get good relics (artifacts), so if you use Fuel to farm those, then get out as soon as you get the necessary main stats on all pieces.

It's so hard to focus on a core four when the weaknesses of enemies shift around so much. I know it's best to save but i find myself swapping out Dan Heng, Serval, and Herta as needed + I use Bronya for boss fights to advance the turns of whichever dps is most effective. Trailblazer and Natasha are on my team all the time but I found it so annoying when I got to Belabog that it was taking me a while to kill all these robot enemies who were weak to lightning but Serval wasn't leveled because everyone kept saying 'focus on a core four'. So I leveled Serval and my 'core' team at the moment is Trailblazer, Serval, Herta, Bronya, & Natasha with guest appearances from Dan Heng.

What I did was level up someone from each element except imaginary(cause I dont have anyone from that element lol). MC, Asta, Pela, Lynx, Natasha, Serval, and Danheng should be able to carry you end game just fine.

Not only I love Yui Ishikawa voice, but stelle design is almost perfect in every way. For the Support Characters, please always put Preservation (Fu Xuan) or Abundance (Luocha) characters in it if you want to get your support character to get used more often, don't just always put new characters in it, always put a sustainer in it for more users to get benefits from it, and please don't be like those other users that put characters that are not even max level lightcone and not built traces, it's already a pain to find a support character for farming other stuffs to begin with.

I'm up to TB58 now and my preferred support unit borrow is by far Blade who shreds through all of the calyx grinds. Sure, for Echo of War I might be best off with a Fu Xuan, though usually I just borrow the best DPS that matches the enemy weaknesses. I might be forced to go with a good sustain unit once I reach the next difficult tier at TB60... But most of my borrows will still be Blade for calixes (though recently I've been having fun with borrowing a level 80 Himeko).

I'm glad you touched on how the gacha system works a little bit in this video since this is something I feel like HSR content creators didnt do enough when the game first released. Everyone seemed to brush it off saying "its just like Genshin" as if all the new HSR players have played genshin (which i did not and got triggered every time i heard someone say that/use genshin lingo to explain something). Personally I would have liked it more if you went into a bit more detail on how it works, such as what does "the 50/50" mean (which confused me for a long time at the start of this game). Also a big mistake I made was assuming that the rate up limited character would be moved over to the standard banner after their banner ended, similar to how it works in other gacha games i played. This is how I missed out on getting Seele. Great video, and good luck to all the new trailblazers!

As someone who started in the last week of kafka's banner and lost the 50/50... Feel free to splurge on up to 8 characters that can form 2 teams right away. There's more than enough rewards in the game now to support that level of investment up until you reach TB50 and can start taking MoC seriously and will need those two teams. I had about 9 characters invested in before TB50, and maxed most of their main 4 traces, at which point I got Lynx and Pela and proceeded to cut down my investment targets to 8, including these two new characters. One disclaimer though - I have done minimal relic farming other than spending my 4 weekly planar relics plus a bit extra in the double drop event. In terms of advice for what you need to farm, I'd say hold off in relic farming and spending fuel before TB60 (which I'll reach just after jingliu banner drops). Before TB50, just farm what you need to raise 8 or 9 characters. After TB50 you can start prioritizing. XP and light cone XP reach max efficiency at this tier so prioritize dumping your TB power there and do the minimum for the rest. Once you reach TB60 the flood gates unlock and you should prioritize whatever improves your MoC.

I'm just glad that I'm tl 66 now, and I've basically been doing this for the entire time. Play, do quests, finish SU, attempt swarm disaster and fail cause they always go for Daniel, pull on both limited character and LC banners, and purchase the free light cones. I think playing genshin has made me think about actually strategizing while playing a game I'm enjoying. Star rail is a lot easier to resource manage no matter what everyone says. Recently the only reason I've logged into genshin is to do the archon quest. But I'm mostly spending time in star rail. Amazing game both of them. And I thank you for this video!

Been playing HSR for two days so far and have to disagree with this. So far I'm finding Genshin far easier in comprehension and battle (though I'm not really one for turn based games). Then again, everything goes over my head when playing a new game and I stumble around and somehow manage. In Genshin I didn't even know what domains were, what resin was, that you could level up talents, etc until I got to Liyue lmao. The learning curve is real.

My biggest recommendation is when you're first building characters it's focus on your one Sustain (ether abundance or preservation) then your two supports (Nihility and Harmony) then your DPS (Erudition, Destruction, or Hunt) in that order. Just make them good enough to clear content though I wouldn't worry about maxing them out until you can get them to level 80. I say this because you will then learn which playstyles you enjoy and can better decide who you want to actually build after playing for awhile. This is especially important for your DPS since I find you get more enjoyment playing some one you like rather then someone "powerful". I have a couple half built and close to fully built DPS units that I did early on because I tried to force myself to enjoy their playstyle when they weren't my favorite and I do regret it a little. Meanwhile I still regularly use all the Sustain and Support characters I've built. Asta, Pela, and Tingyun are all very versatile 4 star characters that can be used in almost any team and are never a bad idea to build IMO.

I got overwhelmed trying to level up 5 stars. Honkai is so much more generous than Genshin. 2 months in I have 7 5* and 4 5* weapons. It takes probably a solid week of grinding just for leveling talents for each character, let alone relics.

not me being TL65 and having started a week after the game came out and watching this xDD but there are some useful tips here that would have definitely helped me when I started. the amount of resources from content early on until now, people could focus on a core 8 to at least lvl 60. after that they could zero in on 4 - DPS 1st, sustainer, healer + flex. definitely wish i knew about the traces early on and how much they cost! and focusing more on exp mats on assignments. i'm broke on those and credits.

They’re basically character classes. Characters in the nihility class (or path, as they are called in game) focus on debuffs, whereas harmony characters focus on buffs. So on and so forth. You can find all archetypes by pressing the path button in the character menu.

So I've heard conflicting things about the beginner banner, the one that is discounted with up to 50 pulls. I've heard that once you get a 5 star its best to not pull on that anymore and focus on standard, since at 50 you're not guaranteed a 5 star. But then I also heard the beginner banner technically has increased rates at dropping a 5 star. So...in your opinion, should I stop once i get the 5 star or max out the 50? Or does it not really matter?

there isnt an enhanced chance of getting a 5* you have a guaranteed 1 at 50 pulls but you have the same rate of pulling as you do on the usual standard banner yes you can get 2 5* from the beginner banner but its up to luck and is better to start on the standard once u get ur guaranteed 5*

In my opinion, yes. I once got Bailu in that banner within 30-ish pulls and it was the first and last 5 star I have gotten in that 50 pull beginner banner but if you want to try your luck, then go for it. However, it doesn't build pity though since once you use 50 pulls, the banner is gone so better pull for banners that count pities instead
