I'm really fortunate to start playing the game around 2nd week of March. That free Dr. Ratio really push me to finish most part of the game. Got Bronya on Departure Warp. Still winning 50/50 for Sparkle and Acheron. Acheron banner rate up with someone she can team up with, got me E3 Pela and E2 Gallagher (skill cleanse). And every time I got a few normal pass I pull. This got me early Clara, Lynx, Tingyun and few useful LC. At TL60, I finished the main story, Forgotten Hall Jarilo-IV, 4* PF (for free Lynx), and open SU9. Now, I'm pulling for Aventurine because I'm lacking a great sustain for harder content (using Fire MC mostly) and starting to put some effort on building appropriate Relic Sets. My team: 1. Acheron, Pela, Gallagher, Fire MC 2. Dr. Ratio, Sparkle, Lynx, Fire MC 3. Dr. Ratio, Tingyun, Bronya, Lynx

i started playing on a new account (after droping hsr) about a month ago, and i took my time doing every single quest available, reading the dialogues and enjoying the stories, and honestly, i didn't even lose out on any events, the one event that was up at the time i started playing was a permanent event, that still is up, and the next smaller event only came when i was about to reach penacony, and that event happened in herta's space station. You can take your time with the game, don't worry about events, you'll at best lose 1 event

That is true for the most part. I did noticed that for the permanent events, the limited time rewards are WAY better than the permanent rewards, they're not even close. And also it depends on your velocity, as in how many hours you're playing a day. I wholeheartedly agree though, that enjoying the story is way more worth it than those rewards ^^

I honestly learned so much from this video. I'm like 45 days into HSR and had no idea how to even farm relics (I'm not really there yet anyway, only world level 3 and characters are between 50-60).

@@AisSoraTV Relics are something that I see a lot of channels skip over - most of the discussion is on (1) what does the character do, and (2) do you need their light cone to make them work? Missing from the discussion is the roll of having relics on your character. Keep up the great analysis if it's what you want to do. :)

Hey im around TL 37 rn,i havent done much in terms of farming relics i just levelled up my characters,traces and cones to the cap and im equilibrium level 2 ,when should i start farming and how do i build a good team comp?

Could you please do a video, perhaps even series of starting HSR after the free Dr, Ratio. I only started this game last patch and feel so behind (because I am). Soooooo many guides are like, and now we'll use our free Dr. Ratio -of which I don't have...

Yeah, but you can definitely use a lot of the other characters, that are either 4 stars DPS or Standard 5 stars, it is hard to replace the value a limited like Dr. Ratio brings, in all fairness. It depends on your account ofc, but from the top of my head, Hunt March can be a very decent unit, even as a dps ^^

For the battle pass i set a restriction on myself where i have to actually complete it to 50 before buying it, if i don't then i didn't earn the fruits of the labor.

Tbh, you dont need most of the characters, and you can just progress at your own pace. if you ignore the fomo, you can build up your account within a couple of months of normal play. There are ofc some characters that are better to get for a new player than other, I might make a video about that soon, but a quick suggestion is, some good sustain like Fu Xuan and Aventurine, and some good DPSes like Acheron, Jing Liu etc. Supports are great to have but I think when it comes to 4* characters, supports are the most abundant imho. Give it a try, I promise it's a very fun game, and I doubt you would regret it ^^

Started on the day when they announced free dr.ratio and im 67 tl rn my first 5 star standard character was gepard and then i pulled argenti i kinda regret instead i could've pulled sw then got ruan mei then Acheron i lost 50/50 but still able to get her and and manage to e6 pela and Gallagher and then got jingliu as my second dps and got bronya of single pull that day have Welt e1 and his lc i got twice rn and let me tell you jingliu help me so much and she is not build that well in terms of relics didn't try moc until i got her and for now i can clear normal moc to stage 7 and the new moc to stage 4 pf not so much i got himeko on acheron banner as my 50/50 loss so I'll prob build her and herta for pf and now saving for fu xuan rerun

Aventurine is quite good too if you're fishing for a sustain. Especially if you use Dr. Ratio a lot ^^

I don't i need to really build him yet i only use acheron and jingliu now ajd when i started the game jingliu and fu Xuan were two units i really wanted to get i have jingliu and hopefully I'll win 50/50 for fu xuan and rn I don't have jade to get adventurine and i have gepard so for now he will do

I Wish! It took me like 80 pulls to get the LC; Himeko came home in the beginner banner after 50 pulls (the max XD)

I started 2.0 ig when acheron first ran I stopped right after i wasnt able to get acheron 😂 But i did get dr ratio tho (Im only TL5 when i stopped) Now im back maybe a for week now and actively playing Currently TL30 with my main team Dr ratio, Serval e1, Asta e1, Natasha I even Clara with her LC And Herta e2 All level 40 with lvl40 lightcones I just defeated SU world 3 With dr ratio clara asta natasha (cant beat it with serval) Now im EL2 and planning who to ascend more and invest into Im thinking ofc my main team Dr ratio, asta, natasha Now the 4th idk who i should upgrade first or prioritize Or other characters i should upgrade Should i go for serval? Clara? Or herta? Or Qingque? Gallagher? Or any mc element?

If you dont know, I would say Pela / Tingyun are universal characters that you can use on most teams, so you can't go wrong with either. If you have Gallagher, definitely worth investing over Natasha. For a second team, Clara is amazing as your dps. Serval is ok, but there are a lot of other characters that are better imo. Herta is also a good investment, but not early on, she's good for pure fiction mode, and can be good in Simulated Uni. Cheers ^^

@@shyyy.196 I mean investing in Gallagher will set you back a bit now, since I understand resources are hard to come by early on, but worth it long term imho. Also works way better than Natasha with Dr. Ratio since he inflicts a debuff. Do you have Hunt March 7? she could work great with Dr. Ratio, so I recommend her as you next investment ^^ Guinaifen is decent too (if you have her), she could help dr ratio with debuffs. I wonder how the experience is gonna be for new players post 2.1 once dr. ratio is no longer free. He was a game changer for my account (I started during 1.4) and I still use him regularly. I genuinly think I wouldn't be able to clear some of the content if I didn't invest in him.

True! I mean there's no shortage of DSP characters tho tbf, especially the featured 5*, but definitely a great boost, I was using him non stop until I got Acheron on that account.

Do u only get Dr.Ratio when u start a new account? I started playing honkai star rail when it came out for like a couple houers.. and stopped right after u get to the Master Control Zone. Just started playing again and I did not get him in the mail ..

You need to finish the first region main story, basically the same time you unlock the wishing mechanic, which shouldnt take long ^^

I started playing 2 weeks ago and Idc about meta but I want both Boothill and Fu Xuan and Idk who I should prioritize just in case I can only get one (I have guaranteed on 35 pity) I have Aventurine, Clara, Bronya, Bailu and Dr. Ratio The guide was good, now I know I haven't done too much wrong haha

I mean if you're asking which one is gonna be more useful for your account, my vote goes for Fu Xuan; If you get Boothill, try to get Ruan Mei whenever she reruns since she's gonna be key for any break based DPS (like Boothill and Firefly). Either way, I recommend going with whichever you like more.

I think I started playing just in time... 2 hours before 2.2 started so I got free Dr. Ratio and lucky Aventurine at 15 pity xD I was pulling for Robin and lost to Bronya, should I keep pulling for her or is there someone better? I like Robin a lot though so Idk

Damn, Aventurine was great to go for! Robin is great for your Dr. Ratio. You do want a debuffer on your dr ratio team, so you can do Dr. Ratio, Debuffer, Bronya or Robin, and Aventurine. Now looking at this patch and the one after, personally, for new players, I would say Robin and Fu Xuan are the best choices, but since you have already Aventurine, so Robin is good. Youre gonna need a second team at some point, but that will depend on the roster of 4 stars you have ^^ Bronya already is gonna be amazing for your second team, and works well dr ratio too o7 If you can squeeze in Fu Xuan too, that would be amazing.

@@AisSoraTV So Dr. Ratio, Pela, Bronya and Aventurine works? Also I got insanely lucky rn... I had Clara from the beginner banner, and I got her LC at 45 pity on standard and then Gepard at 6 pity. What is life. My second team is starting to look like Clara, Gepard, Tingyun, and ??? xD I might save for Fu Xuan now since I like the 4 stars on her banner too

I like her in general, but not with Yanqing, no, since she increases aggro on him. She could work if you run Fire MC for taunt ig, but not a great synergy overall imho.

@@AisSoraTV Good take, I can agree. But in my theory I really appreciate her Shield with aggro so it has a higher usage rate for those others that don't have any shield. I can see enemies that have a wider range of attack putting her in a hard spot. But, with an Ice DPS her AoE CC Ultimate and FuA contributes for a more constant Ice Break Weakness... She only needs just a little more patience to work with.

Her actual problem with Yanqing is that they are both hungry for SP. Sparkle should be able to solve it but... Well, she's not around for now lol

@@blvmenkrnz yeah, you can find ways to make her work, but my point is, it's too much maintenance when you can run Fire MC and a healer. Also the unfortunate part is, Yanqing is not great to begin with, at that point it's better to invest in a better 4* DPS, but I gave some ideas on when you could invest in him to make him work decent at least ^^ I do wanna build him on my ult as my Ice DPS since I got Aventurine, would be fun to test him in that capacity.
