I bought a 10 gallon surface the day they became available. I love it, so easy to clean. When I looked at cost the G2 was only about $85 less than the Surface.

I started brewing in 1996 and stopped probably three years ago when my grain weight seemed to keep moving to my bathroom scale. But my goal has been to start brewing again once I got back under my redline. I plan on replacing my Jed Clampett brewery with a modern, single kettle system. So I've been researching here and there. This really moves the scales for me! It's not just the great warranty but the pride and confidence of the founder. I'm not sure when I'll be back to brewing but the odds are pretty good it's going to be with Blichmann equipment! 🍻

I was initially on the fence about the Surface with a 5-year warranty because I want kettles to last the rest of my life and was going to go with a system where I could replace the electronics if they failed. With this lifetime warranty of the whole setup, you have clearly set yourself heads and shoulders above the competition. Do you plan on introducing a basket for the 20-gallon surface so we can have a brew-in-basket setup?

Thanks Richard, actually our engineers have tested it with a BIAB and we've found that the low-watt density supports BIAB, without having to worry about scorching. Under normal mash temps and ramping we pushed it to the limits with a rapid boil and it still produced the same high quality results that you'd expect from a Blichmann product. So all good there. :) Hope that helps?

Can the BoilerMaker Surface be used with a BrewBag sitting on the bottom of the kettle for BIAB setups, or will the bag and/or grain scorch without the false bottom in place?
