I just bought a sqoe guitar and it came with this Wilkinson wov10 I believe, I’d say it’s a solid trem for a budget guitar. There’s one issue tho, it came with super low action to the point it produces buzz noise on several fret, I’ll set it up later and give an update on the screw quality.
@Badfaceadrii Жыл бұрын
actually you can you can use it upwards for tone and a half, you just need to remove one of the springs on the back (which is recomended in most trems out there)
@Brad14310 ай бұрын
Hi,can it fit on Jackson js22 dinky arch top.
@rockkevinrock Жыл бұрын
Speaking from experience, I eventually started to prefer a Floyd Rose bar/mount, and the hole in the baseplate where the mount is attached on the Wilkinson is the same size, so I just put the different bar mount on there.

Just got a Fusion III with this tremolo and I find it very stiff. Thomann says that it's probably because the springs are very new and will loosen up with use ... has anyone removed one of the springs? Wondering if it will affect tuning stability...
@Stoffendous Жыл бұрын
There's a screw for this underneath the tremoloarm.
@zgravity8964 Жыл бұрын
I removed the spring in the middle. Its still a bit stiff but better. Had no problems with Intonation or Tuning Stability.

i have this WVS50IIK that came in a harley benton fusion, had it for less than a month. Set the intonation twice. First when it arrived and then when i changed string gauges, and two of the six saddle locking screws got rounded and wont turn anymore with the allen key. Any idea if I could simply buy a VS100N and replace it with that one? apparently its way better quality. Also like 5x the price so dont want to take a chance tbh...
@marmadukewinterbotham2599 Жыл бұрын
I have the Fusion T 25th Anniversary. How DO you adjust intonatoin when the saddles don't have springs - the back saddle screws will only move the saddles one way?
@dizgil6881 Жыл бұрын
@@marmadukewinterbotham2599 well its been a while now. Let me tell you ive learnt a ton from this bridges xD the wvs50iik and the vs100n work the same way really. Id suggest before doing anything get the vs100n manual which is easier to find online. What i learnt was: Its not a labour of force, but one of love lol dont use force on any screws or you will snap them. Loosen the big allen screw first, then use the tiny one to move it either way. it does go both ways because the tiny one pushes against the bigger one to go backwards. When done tighten the big one again. If adjusting action same thing loosen the big one first. Also for anyone wondering, the VS100n is not the exact same size, even though wilkinson directly confirmed it would be. didnt have to redrill the body, but the block was bigger than the 50iik and i ended up sanding a couple mm from the cavity to make it fit. Also string spacing is bigger on the vs100n... goes from 10.5mm to 10.8mm total which does make a difference i didnt think it would. It should be much easier to get replacement screws than it is, ended up having to buy a whole trem because of snapping a couple screws.

take the screws (a working screw from the other 4) to your local 'specialist' screw/bolt shop and buy new ones for a fiver

@@dizgil6881When you say string spacing do you how far apart the strings?
@dizgil68813 ай бұрын
@@Logan-zo3lj yeah from each other.. i think i got used to it by now, but its certainly quite easy on this guitar to pull the 1sr/6th string out of the fretboard and get it muted by accident
@bluwng7 ай бұрын
The saddle screws do not impact tone they are to lock down the saddles supposedly to increase tuning stability. Sustain blocks don’t add tone in fact pickups only respond to change in the magnetic field so the only thing that matters is what affects the string vibration in a substantial way not in a negligible way. Don’t mislead people due to your misconceptions.

Hey brother. Of course there is. Some that come to mind are bigsbys, and kahler tremolos. Obviously there are body modifications that go with it. Is your dinky a string through design hardtail? Tell me more about
@austindurham57363 ай бұрын
@@nikaxeguitar yeah man it's a string through. I play metal a lot so the kahler would be the way to go probably huh?

Thanks for the heads up on having to block it when you change strings. But how does one do that exactly?
@marmadukewinterbotham2599 Жыл бұрын
I leave the old 1st and 6th strings on, replace the others, and then do the 1st and 6th.
@MackDaddy81548 ай бұрын
I've got the VS-100N on my FireFly FFST HSS. To "block" the trem rear section at string change, I use a small thickness pad of post-it notes. Works wonders.
@bluwng8 ай бұрын
It’s the smoothest Tremolo I have ever used especially if setup correctly. I use 9-42 and only 2 springs floating with slight upward tilt resulting in a smooth operating trem. 5 springs mounted to the body is BS and it feels like having a tug of war with a rhino.
@micksterminator37 ай бұрын
what size allen key do you use to unlock the bridge? I was intonating yesterday on a new used Laguna en322 guitar I bought and the torx I had started slipping. Looks to be the same exact bridge as yours. Went to the store and bought a sae and metric allen key set and the 1.5mm, 2mm, or 1/16" dont work. I need something between 1.5-2mm or smaller than 1/16" any recommendations?

I have to shout a gripe on the one I have. Identical. It came with my fusion T Hh fnt Harley benton. 4 years later stays in tune and great trem but...the plate will get little grooves on high e like a little burr cut out from string tension bending over the years. So the base plate could be better made. Now it breaks e strings. Took a close Pic and vid to show it on my FB page but may upload to KZbin. I hope it's only mine doing this but I doubt it. Otherwise it's a killer trem.

New subscriber here.... Doing my research here, will one of these Wilkinson tremolo systems fit on a 2021 Squier Stratocaster Affinity HH guitar??? I mistakenly purchased a tremolo block for my Squier Stratocaster to increase the sustain and hopefully add to the value of it, the replacement block that I bought will in no way fit. So now I'm stuck with a useless extra tremolo block and the same factory tremolo system. ANY info that you or anyone else reading this could provide would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

Can this be used for Jackson RR Minion JS1X?
@nikaxeguitar11 ай бұрын
Most likely. Does your jackson have a recessed or a non recessed trem already?
@bluwng7 ай бұрын
Non recessed? Tremolos are not recessed, the recess is not a function the unit it is a function of the guitar body routing. Plenty of guitars have non locking tremolos on a recessed body, Charvel DK 22/24 for example.

I wonder if I could replace the (awful) Ibanez Fat 20 with one of these?
@KaosII19685 ай бұрын
Nope, The FAT trems are a 74mm spread between the bolts same as a Floyd. I have seen guitarist use the newer Schaller single locking Floyd or the roller bridge they make. They are both supposed to be drop ins for Floyds. Take a look at their web page or look at Guthrie Govan's Charvel model. That is what he uses now that he stopped using the locking trem. I agree the whole lot of the early SA ibanez SAT, FAT10, FAt 20, Fat pro were junk. I just blocked mine off. I am assuming you have some variant of an Ibanez SA, SAS guitar. I don't recall them using that horrendous trem on anything else.... But maybe they did. The guitars are beautiful and have nice fendery necks, I love the way mine sounds and looks... I have a 2008? SAS-360 bubinguh? top ...The extra S at the end denotes Set-Neck. It actually has many more numbers and letters after that. Ibby has the weirdest naming codes... I think they just play into it now because they've been called out for it for years and it just keeps getting more crazy.
@simonpsychosis28125 ай бұрын
@@KaosII1968 I've done some further investigation into it, and you are definitely correct- the Schaller or the Floyd (non-fine tuner, in my case) are my only options. Think I'll go with the Floyd. Thank you for your detailed response!

Wilkinson trying to re invent the wheel. Terrible system of screwed in saddles that aren't spring tensioned which makes intonation and action adjustments extremely awkward. The standard strat trem is universally accepted for a reason. This is over-complicated junk, with all due respect.
