As someone who was born and still living in Kansas…Thank you for making our state look so good. We’ve been trying to keep it a secret 🤫. You were so close to the Coronado Heights Castle. This is the furthest North that Coronado journeyed for the fabled Seven Cities of Gold. It’s just a little bit outside of Lindsborg. So much to do and see in Kansas that people just don’t realize. If you’re bored then you’re not looking very hard for something cool to do.

Before you start a vanlife my biggest tip is practice if you are comfortable using a composting toilet or relying on public restrooms Sleeping in areas that sometimes have high traffic even at midnight because it can be loud And most importantly how much you are willing to pay for modern comforts I love living in my 16ft caravan, while it is small i have a double shower/toilet tent for outside and a portable gas hot water system, a 450amp battery system (agm so 225 usable amps) and 600w of solar to run my ps5,tv, residential 231liter(60gallons) fridge/freezer and pedestal fan, this is my tiny home as i build my second house and didn't want to rent in this disgusting market

One of the other main things that Kansas is famous for besides Dodge City and the stockyards of Wichita (which has a museum also) is aviation. Most of your major aircraft companies got their start in Wichita Kansas, and of course there's an Air Force Base there as well. It was because of the flat ground that they're able to do a lot of testing in Kansas throughout the history of flight. Having said that in Wichita you missed going to the "Kansas Aviation Museum".

This is your first video I've seen. Kansas is my adopted home state since I moved here when I was 9 so my father could work in aviation. Wichita is the Air Capital of the world. Your videos are very professionally done and you both are charming. You have highlighted many of the parts of the state I have seen but you evidently didn't try to eat any bison & missed out! Something I enjoyed seeing was the original Laura Ingalls tiny cabin near Independence, KS when they settled here in "Indian Territory". I was a big fan of the "Little House" books. I was startled to see your skyline of Wichita with the Exploration Place architecture in it. It looked amazing. I am still finding new & unexpected places to visit here. The Flint Hills and Manhattan, KS are very beautiful as are the hilly forested areas in SE KS. I saw my first ever mountain lion at Tuttle Creek Reservoir near Manhattan last year. I may have to check out the Little Jerusalem badlands some time. Yes, the "Arkansaw River" becomes the "Arkansas" River pronunciation-wise in Kansas. I still can't get used to that and a few other Kansas-isms here.

New subsciber here. I found you on a Travel Beans episode. I have a idea for an upcoming episode for you. I know that Illinois deservedly gets a bad rap but the Southern tip of the state is quite beautiful and you could do a whole episisode on the Shawnee National Forest alone. Look up Pine Hills, Pomona Natural Bridge, Alto Pass (lots of wineries), Giant City State Park, Garden of the Gods, Cave In Rock, Shawneetown, etc. I grew up in Anna and we're close enough to Poplar Bluff that we shared a TV station (KFVS-12). My parents, sisters, and nieces still live down there but I won't visit until fall since I hate hot weather. I'd rather spend my summers here in Wisconsin. I also have plenty of WI tips for you, especially in the Driftless Region.
