I had one of the best car break-down experiences of my life in Sioux Falls. I was driving my 1974 Honda Civic across the country, and as I approached Sioux Falls, a loud noise started from the engine area. I pulled into the Honda dealer, and they quickly diagnosed the problem as a bad alternator. The service guy told me to go have some lunch and then come back. So I walked across the street to a little coffee shop and had lunch. By the time lunch was finished, and I returned to the dealership, my car was fixed. The price was reasonable, and I was on the road immediately. It was as if I had only stopped for lunch and continued on my journey. The customer service was the best I had ever experienced from any dealership service center. It was an excellent experience!

Also this video is sponsored by South Dakota Tourism and they used stock clips from a website called Storyblocks for the Badlands and the Mount Rushmore drone shots. They film their own work so well that those shots have confused quite a few people in these comments thinking they did something illegal by using their own drone! Look in the bottom right corner when those scenes come up you will see a black S inside a yellow circle with ‘Storyblocks’ next to it.

Everytime I see Mount Rushmore I think of Cary Grant, Eva Marie Saint, and James Mason in "North By Northwest"! Cool trivia note, in the scene where Cary is about to be shot in the tourist lodge cafeteria, before the gun goes off there is a young boy 👦 sitting at a table behind him that has heard how loud the gun is in a previous take and covers his ears before the gun goes off! It was the best take of the other characters and they were close to finishing and running out of time so they left in in the movies 🎥 final cut!

My family took that same road trip in the 1960s, when I was a kid. Wall Drug was just a medium sized "drug store" with a lunch counter and a few, generic souvenirs. Pulling over to gaze at wildlife wasn't high on my dad's list, but we did stop when a herd of bison decided to cross the highway. Great video, guys!

Despite being born and growing up in the California Bay Area I know next to nothing about the states as I left when I was 17. Your videos have been very educational for me. South Dakota looks more beautiful than I would have imagined. As for the food - I wanted to rip that chicken wing out of your hand!!!! Eric's brisket also looked very nice - for some reason the butchers don't understand what a brisket cut is - and it's impossible to find it in the supermarkets here in the UK. They have different cuts and names - it gets very frustrating sometimes. However, lovely video as usual. Thank you!!!

Right? We loved all the views there - the badlands were definitely the highlight for us but the grass/prairie lands and mountains were lovely! 😍

Oh, too bad you didn't stay for the lights at Mt. Rushmore - it's amazingly gorgeous at night! I hope you go back one day and spend more time there.

Loved the video! This one back a fun memory for me. Nearly 40 years ago I went off roading with my former husband. Somewhere in Nevada. It had rained during the week and created lots of muddy spots. By the time we got back to the RV the only clean spot on me was under my sunglasses. Good times!

If you ever make it back to the area, you definitely need to see the Minuteman Missile museum, about 30 miles east of Wall. We finally made it out to the area last summer.

This might be my favorite of your US videos. I have friends in Rapid City who have begged me to visit. Now I just might do that.
