This is the most informative floor tutorial I've ever seen on youtube. Well done.

Thank you so much. This is the first video I have watched from your channel and its brilliant. We are building in Australia and i wish some of the templates and flooring was available!

Would you address the pros and cons of airflow under the floor of the van?

Would you leave the felt backed vinal floor covering installed at the factory under your insulation as an extra layer or remove and start from the bare meal and why ?

Could I use carpet tiles as a sound dampener then layer with sound guard moisture control underlay before I put my ply wood on then another layer of underlay before I place my laminate flooring most of this got for free just trying to see if there is an effective use for it

Can I use the mat that is in my van? It has some cushion like carpet padding under it. Then just put click together flooring over it? Or do I need to put down some plywood first?

I live in MT and I'm having issues with plumbing freezing and want to re-do my floor for maximum insulation in the winter. Any specific tips or suggestions on material selection?

With all due respect has anyone ever tested the actual noise reduction from a van floor that had strips of sound deadening material put in just the valleys, because without running a continuous layer across the entire floor including the wheel wells I’m skeptical that it would add any significant reduction in noise. As a former science teacher you would have to complete two identical vans one with the strips of material & one without and then drive down the same roads with a decibel meter. I suspect all you are accomplishing is to add 50 mm of height for a lot of money? Secondly, who came up with the term decoupling for the idea of reducing heat transfer between surfaces which essentially is the exchange of thermal energy between physical systems. The meaning of the word “decoupling” is the separation of something that was previously joined or coupled. Therefore, “decoupling” has nothing to do with heat tranfer!
