50:07 my theory on why he included South Park in his note: There’s a couple possibilities on why he pointed to Kenny, but I think the most logical ones are A) He related to Kenny and his home life. The practically inhumane treatment and living conditions, being in foster care, and other horrible things. B) what bloom said, nobody understood him. Nobody cared to listen to him or his statements. Being put to the side like nothing. My heart goes out to this boys family and friends. I hope he’s doing well in his afterlife.

not everything from 1998 is online, which could explain why there isn't too much information. i've found an obituary from a local paper, which makes me think it's legit. the fact that this took place in 1998 - i don't want to assume his story, but i know for a fact that back then, kids were bullied for being the kenny of their school. they would have been bullied regardless but south park did show a poor "mute" kid getting killed every week. i could write an essay about this, but i won't. whatever his reasoning, i'm sad to hear it. Depressing fact about the blame canada oscars performance by Robin Williams - he actually dedicated the performance for Mary Kay Bergman. While she wasn't as iconic as other cartoon voice actors, Mary was heavily involved in the world of voice acting. We're talking Daphne Blake from the original scooby doo movies, imitating celebrities such as Jodie Foster and Emma Thompson, Timmy Turner, a hell load of Simpsons and Disney characters, Captain Planet and the Planeteers... She even was supposed to sing the whole of Pretty Fly for a Rabbi by Weird Al (which is hilarious tome considering she's jewish). So she voices all the female characters of South Park until 1999 and sings the now iconic Blame Canada. She does a brillant job and it certainly wasn't easy. But sadly, she commits suicide before the Oscars began. So Robin Williams sings it instead.

Block 13 isn’t actually a knockoff! The creators of B13 did indeed get special permission by Comedy Central to make this Arabic adaptation, because South Park was actually banned in the Arab World/Middle East. On a side note, Block 13 has a reboot called “Street 13” that came out in 2022 (albeit very obscure). You should’ve added Zlikavci to the iceberg as well, it’s an infamous Croatian talk show that triggered a bunch of SP fans for how it’s first season looked like the older seasons, however it has no correlation to South Park and is simply a talk show that some people have said is a ripoff. There are more DELIBERATE ripoffs however. The Adventures of Gracie-Lou, Toyer Al-Jannah, and Chiki Tings are the most infamous ones for copying the artstyle heavily (Toyer Al-Jannah’s ripoff has no correlation to Block 13). Chiki Tings is a Filipino animated webseries that also copies the artstyle, and Gracie-Lou is just nursery rhymes… With the SP artstyle as well. Nobody knows why they are copying SP a lot.

how is toyor al janah a ripoff of south park? the only resemblances between their artstyle is the big round eyes and the simple artstyle but that’s it. Even the eyes don’t look like the way south park draw them, they draw them like eggs while toyor al janah draw them like circles

It was always strange to me because the idea that Europe has stricter censorship is just not true. Not only is stuff like that completely up to the decision of every individual country but most countries in Europe have given up on any sort of censorship since the fucking 90s. @user-gl1ls1jx3h2 жыл бұрын
Wow, I had to look this up and found this on the Beavis and Butthead fandom page: The mother later claimed that her son watched one of the fire-related segments shortly before he burned down the home. However, neighbors claimed that the family didn't even have cable television, and was unable to view the show. [...] In 2008, Messner (who was 20 years old at the time) came forward with his side of the controversy "I literally NEVER saw the cartoon. How could I? It was 1993, my Mom was a drug addict. We couldn't afford cable!" At the time, he did not care about making this message publicly because he "did not care for social media" but in 2019, Messner wanted people (including series creator Mike Judge) to know about his side of the story. He claims he never saw an episode and he does not plan to because of this tragic incident. Sounds like some drug addict accidentally killed her daughter and blamed her son. That is just awful.

My theory on why the MacFarlane figures went unreleased: The crew *obviously* hates Family Guy, right? Who's the creator of Family Guy? Seth *MacFarlane* Who were going to release the figures? *MacFarlane* In order to stay in line with their hate of Family Guy they cancelled the release of the figures on the grounds of the company behind the figures shared the name of Family Guy's creator. I don't know if it was in an episode or my mind making this up right now but I feel like I remember seeing a scene of characters asking something like "who the f are you even? You never do anything" after he said something? Or was at some type of gathering? Probably late and someone has probably brought this up, but given Pip's Skull was labeled as a throwable, it's likely that it would've been one of the New Kid's ranged weapons in the game. Logically it would've probably been obtained in the Land of the Dead, a cemetery area guarded by Vampire Kids, both of which were also cut from the game, but exist in the files.

30:15 the joke's even more interesting than that, there is a large element to it being used as an exercise. The trick is not only to be as offensive as possible, but for every piece to be used and for it to make "logical" sense. For (a vague, censored) example, if you have the wife using both of her hands to hold up the dog who's 'with' the son, you can't then have her grabbing the husband's 'pole' without making her moving her hands away into a new element It's is a brilliant juxtaposition of absurdity and realism

You’re correct South Park airs on Much. It used to be called Much Music and was basically our equivalent of MTV, but much like that network it’s devolved from playing music videos to just regular programming. Just thinking about it now I can’t remember the last time a saw a music video on there. Gotta be at least 2 or 3 years and even then it was only at like 4 in the morning. In the 90’s-late 2000’s it originally aired on the sensibly named “The Comedy Network”, and you can venture a guess as to which network it’s the Canadian equivalent of, lol. It’s also a sister station to Much, among other networks, so eventually with rearranging airing schedules over the years the show eventually somehow made its way onto its current home on Much. Hope that helps!

@masonschwalm20102 жыл бұрын
@@Stiffmeister-yu8jr yeah I specifically remember early high school days staying up late to watch and get turned on to all the awesome metal on Much Loud, back when it was a show before they split off into their own network of the same name. Or just sitting around and watching Countdown or something. Not sure if those sister stations (Loud, Retro, etc) are even still around anymore, but yes I agree those were indeed the good old days, and if they did ever play a show it would still be something music related like Beavis and Butthead, or Al Music (instead of Al TV which is cool that he would come over here to do and another example of a Canadian equivalent, lol) when Weird Al would take over the studio for the week. I remember getting a few of my requests read on Much On Demand as a kid as well. I had that Much membership card that they had too where you could get discounts at the record store and they had the contest where if you were a member you could win a Much Dance party for your school and they’d bring all their high end sound equipment and stage effects, always looked so cool. Then they started playing movies, mostly at night, but at least they were usually cool counter culture movies like Wayne’s World or whatever but then slowly just started adding more and more non music programming until you get what you have today. Sadly probably because it’s cheaper to just air a bunch of shit rather than having to pay people to host the shows and upkeep for the studio spaces, as well as paying for the music artists to come perform and/or give interviews not to mention getting the rights to play all the music videos among other things. PS- Nice username, lol
