Thank you for this video. I’m at UKZN and they suggested 11 hours every day 💀 not practical cause there’s no way I can be productive for so long daily.

Wow 11 hours is no joke😅, I’m hoping it includes lecture time as well. Look, I guess it is possible (I don’t want you to ignore your lecturers) but it will take a LOT of work to get to that point, and you also need to make sure you don’t burn out. Whatever hours you put in, make them as high impact as possible. Make them count!

Hi Nolo what a timely video! I hope you do better than us students in applying these concepts lol. I think l know the theory its the sitting down, ignoring youtube and etc which is the challenge but l am thinking l should be more serious. l am looking at making a study plan. l am 133 days away from the next paper, all being well, which is a combined audit and accounting paper . This one is will be more demanding due to the linkages and the sheer volume of material and time constraints . Anyway l hope you can advise on what you think is viable. This is not my first attempt the other time l was less prepared for a variety of reasons including the dreaded C and the hysteria which was going around at that time. The worrying thing they have added data analytics into the exam eish and me and excel are not in the least acquainted and their software is not like excel although they say it should be something similar so more problems. So do you have any suggestions? Surprisingly l find the audit the most difficult especially when they say devise procedures or criticise the work done by the other person and what else can be done this is where l really am clueless. l think theoratically l know what to do but the application aspect is the challenge. Accounting other than consolidations and Financial Instruments l think l am fine but there is obviously room for improvement, l am not so concerned about as the auditing aspects. So having heard what l said, any advice on a plan of attack? What do you know about analytics and any advice about what l could use to improve? Hope to hear from you.

Hi Bobo, true, it’s a lot easier said than done. But that’s why you should start where you are. If you can only do an hour a day, do an hour a day, if it’s 30 mins, do 30 mins. It’s so easy to convince yourself to study for just 30 mins, as opposed to 4 hours, you can use that as a foundation. Then build up. I think the problem starts when we want to dive into the deep end.

Which is best study material for CTA awareness stage?
@NoloPududu11 ай бұрын
Just to clarify, what do you mean by CTA awareness stage?
@tayobamiro510011 ай бұрын
@NoloPududu its one of the exam stages for CTA (chartered tax Adviser) qualification
@NoloPududu11 ай бұрын
@tayobamiro5100 Apologies Tayo, in South Africa the acronym CTA also stands for Certificate in Theory of Accounting. It's a qualification required to be able to write the exams to qualify as Chartered Accountant. That's the CTA my channel focuses on.

To be honest, CTA needs full time. Working and cta is not advisable.
@NoloPududu Жыл бұрын
Hi Cathrine. In a perfect world, it would be ideal for everyone to get the opportunity to do CTA full time, but unfortunately for most people that’s not possible. But that doesn’t mean you can’t complete CTA, and do it well, while working. Yes, there are many people who fail CTA while working, but there are also many who fail while studying full time. Time is not the only factor in succeeding at CTA. In fact, the more important factor is HOW you use the time available to you, no matter how little you think it is. I’ve seen many full time students waste their time, and find themselves desperate at the end of the year. So whether you have 10 hours a week, or 40 hours a week, how well are you using those hours?

Hey Cathrine, I'm so sorry to hear about your experience, it sounds like you've really had a challenging time. But I'm so glad you've taken a decision to continue with CTA AND also look after yourself. All the best with next stage in your studies. You've got this!!!

40 hours a week working and trying to study CTA and have a life still. I am mentally drained.
