How I would approach CTA if I had to do it again in 2022

Hi Shania! Yes, that’s one way to do it. That way you know that you are consistently allocating time to questions every time you sit down to study. But don’t beat yourself up if one day you end up spending 40% of your time on theory, because maybe on that day, there was just that much theory to do. But over time, you want to try maintain a 70/30 average.

Hi Nolu, would you advise that we spend 1 day doing 1 subject so that we get enough time to go through all the course work,make those principle based summaries, highlighting and then do questions for the rest of the day.Coz honestly there's not enough time and i personally find it difficult to do two modules a day 😩

Hi Cebisile, if doing one subject per day works for you, then by all means do that, we are all different, so find what works for you. You can spread out the subjects throughout the week. But remember you don’t have to make summaries for every topic. Most topics don’t require a summary, so just make sure you balance your time properly. I know it feels good to make the summaries, but try limit them to topics that need a summary. For instance if you have a very complex topic, and you struggle to understand it by just reading it, you make summaries to help you to understand. But if you read for instance IAS1, do you really have to make a summary? Probably not, a read through might be the only thing you need. There might be an important paragraph here or there that you need to highlight, or you might need to make notes on a paragraph you don’t understand, but I wouldn’t necessarily spend too much time making summaries for the the full standard. Like you said, there isn’t enough time.

Yes actually, it does. In fact if you prepare for lectures and concentrate while attending/watching, you will gain a lot and save yourself a lot of confused reading. So yes, watching lectures falls within the 30%.
