I have these and love them. The sound quality is pretty good. I do love loud music but for running I like to hear my surroundings and they were pretty loud imo. I ran the nyc marathon this past November. And they were perfect cause they lasted during my run but more importantly the hours before I started and then my commute home. This review is solid and spot on. As a marathoner, it’s nice to have the option to hear the crowds. They’re pretty comfy too. I forgot they were on my head. Overall, great for runners.

Had my Run Pro2 for several days. Some observations… 1.) initially had trouble pairing my Pro2’s with my Apple watch Series 9, but this was solved when ios 18.2 came out. (No idea why). 2.) Because there is nothing in my ear canal i find that my ear canals don’t get tired from the constant mild pressure of an earbud 3.) the sound was better than I’d hoped for 4.) because there’s nothing in my ear canals, i find that I can hear voices and maybe more importantly, car approaching from behind when I ride my bike.

Nice review. I do think you should have tested the sound leakage on someone's head. I've got the Shokz Openrune 1 and they do leak when they're not on your head. On head very little leakage until you crank up the volume very high and then there's a little bit of leakage.

Thanks for watching! Ahh yes I did test it whilst my wife was wearing them too and as you say it is a little better, but I was still able to hear what she was listening to. Not too much of an issue though!

From what I’ve seen, these are great if you have normal or better hearing. If you are older AND live in a busy city, then they arent going to be loud enough for you.

Can anyone comment on the durability of these Prorun. Asked 2 friends who owned the Prorun 1, both had mutiple warranty claims within a year which is kinda scary

I just replaced my OpenRun Pro with the Mk 2. It's clearly more sound leakage from the new model, but it's still faint and you have to be pretty close to hear it and almost any background noise will drown it out.

I bet if you put in ear headphones that close to the mic you’d hear them too! I have some and my wife can hear them kinda at loud volumes but not easily if I turn it down.

Yeah that’s a good point! I’d say they are a little louder than my in-ear ones when you listen externally, not too much of an issue though :)

Unless they significantly improved compared to the original Openrun Pro which I owned previously, I would rather recommend the Huawei Freeclip. They sound better, calls are great and they fit so well you can literally forget they are there. Also you can charge them in their case via USB-C and not some proprietary cable that you will not have with you at the worst moments.

I would disagree. Open ear headphones don't work that well for me in the wind. Bone conduction seems to cut through wind a lot better.

The Openrun 2 do not use a proprietary charging cable/connector. they chose to go for USB C for this revision

bought this week, 1 hour to work and 1 hour back, had them loud enough to hear with wind and the odd buss passing and already the battery is at medium, very disappointing was hoping for improved battery power at least 8 hours commuting a week as per my open run I will need to charge every second day gutted they look great and sound better the the first gen, but battery life is abysmal.

I love my RBM as well, but I'm only getting about two hours with them. That's why I use my Shokz Pro for music and save my RBMs for pictures/videos.

I have these. They suck. You cannot hear them if you cycle in cities, completely useless. Its far better to have ANC earbuds (with wind noise cancelling) with alerts pumped into them from your radar. This way you can better hear what is behind while not damaging your hearing.

Then you use ear plugs. I'd use the original Aeropex in a noisy factory environment. Was useful.

@@BradleyGibbs they are around the ear headphones...not sure how you can differentiate the fit when they loop around your ear

@@bikenliftdad9983 not every skull is the same shape or size. That's why there are mini versions of these headsets too. But obviously there are not just 2 head sizes either. In order for bone conductive headsets to work properly, the transducers need to be pressed against the side of your head in front of your ear. And the symptoms you described make it clear that you do have a poor fit, either the transducer placement isn't ideal or not tight enough.
