One tip for preventing the glass from fogging up is to either buy a cheap 3M acetate MultiVisor and cut it to fit the lens holes or get some anti fog Cellulose acetate butyrate spray. Moisture has a very difficult time condensing on Acetate without rolling down. Its a cheap investment that solves 90% of fogging issues.

With the ventilation system, I've found with my own cosplay (not a Death Korps, but it has a gas mask) that a computer fan connected via USB into a power bank is really useful for cooling the inside of a mask down! It's best to place it near the filter/nozzle part of the mask, with the fan blowing outwards (AKA not into your face), and add a hole for air to escape. It's actually really easy to pull off, and decent power banks are guaranteed to last until you're done cosplaying. I can't say if this exact method would work for a DK cosplay, but it's still good for mask cosplays in general.

its basically what I designed the krieg 3D printed gasmask for. There's a slot for a 40mm fan in the mouthpiece and it can work wonders.

Weather it. Dig a trench in it. I've seen many cosplayers with the cleanest costumes and it seriously detracts from the general asthetic. Drag the trenchcoat on dusty ground, through mud and smoke. It looks great but it doesn't look lived in or died in and thats what makes all the art of DKoK standout.

Important note: for your cosplay if you have a Soviet GP5 (I have one) and for majority of soviet or ww1 till early cold war era gasmasks if the filter its a canister one (metal) in the case of the GP5 it has asbestos so take that on mind. Hiatorically majority of metallic vacum sealed stuff like gasmask filters and tank or NBQ protected vehicles oxigen filters had it not to intoxicate the guy using it. It was used for the metallic tin can could be 100% sealed the problem is: its a kind of semi rigid stuff inside the can the very moment a gasmask can cracks open, its cut or recieves impacts so you can see a little bump on the metal the asbestos began as a fiber to crack also, and to libérate that stuff (micro fibers) onto the gasmask filter. So in resume: dont use filters unless somebody drops a really big nurgle kind of fart... you could use perfect state preserved ones for example. But you should never open never the tin can to have the screws for the hose for your cosplay on your room. I will not even do that or if I had to do it I will do it afar from my house on a field and wearing another gasmask, yep another one to not breath that stuff and then clean everything with a water pressure thing. For my intellectually gifted ork friends like me I will explain it easier: DO NOT OPEN DA GAZ FILTÁ THEREZ NOT IKEA MEATBALLZ INZIDE 0/10

Some others have mentioned it but fogging in gasmasks is super common in the real use cases for the army so we use anti fogging spray applied to the inside of mask on the glass. Also if your getting blisters in your boots ensure its proper sizing and I recommend double layering your socks. 1 set thick wool as your outerlayer and 1 thin standard socks preferably sweat wicking.

I know the name of the game for deathcorp outfits is to get uniformity with weapons and such, but I've always liked the idea of two to 6 shock troopers using Agripinaa or Kantrael shotguns and just running through the trenches and fortifications after a no-mans land charge. The enemy is used to las-fire, so having something like a 10-gauge shotgun firing would be loud, disorienting, and unnerving in the initial contact. And for cosplay you get to kind of stand apart a little bit, and have a ww1 warcrime stick (according to the germans :P )

Those in hot climate and setting up for say Valhallan Ice warriors, this might sound batshit insane, but what you can do is prep for proper winter climate under you cosplay. Just put on long sleeve, long underwear made of cotton and motorbike under helmet hood also made from cotton fabric that does not stick out so much outside of the cosplay. Before putting them on, mist them with water to get them moist, wear something insulating top of them like acrylic insulating hoodie and pants, then your cosplay. Drink water a lot before setting out, prepare least few liters of water with you and Himalayan rocksalt in a bag. After few hours take teaspoon worth of rocksalt and keep hydrating. The idea is that once you start to sweat witch you will very much do so, sweat will transfer the heat from your body into the undergarment that soaks with the sweat. Any sun shine and heat on the outside will evaporate that moisture from the outer layers, witch consumes energy and cools you off, so its essentially evaporative cooling happening. This does mean you are utterly soaked by sweat and its nothing to consumer liters upon liters of water (not soda or energy drinks) and the rock salt is there to provide minerals like salt you are loosing from sweating. I have used this method in +30C temperatures to work clearing brushwork while combined airforce of NATO countries worth of mosquitos is buzzing around. Working for 5 hours straight with no issue and only got couple bites with no other injuries, while guests visiting were on the brink of heat stroke in skirt and shorts and almost collapsed by seeing me wearing winter clothes :D The evaporative cooling actually works even thought it sounds crazy. It will take about 15-30 min before you start sweating what is the most uncomfortable period, but after that you wont feel hot anymore as the system starts to work. Sure it aint fun experience, but in work its far better than getting scratched by brush and consumed by mosquitos, not getting anything done, or still sweating and being too hot in just the winter trench coat of valhallans. Only issue might be the sweat odor, but if its hot climate pretty sure everyone is sweating their balls off in the costumes so maybe not the worst possible place to utilize this.
