Ah... Volo's Guide to Waterdeep is a classic book. Really nice call to use that for when you need an establishment of some sort. That book is chock full of good stuff. :-) I also love that the guy on the cover (I guess Volo?) is actually old-school D&D artist, Clyde Caldwell. :-) I guess he was the model for that or something? lol
@WallyDM2 жыл бұрын
Thank you KabukiKid. I did not know that about the cover art. You know what's really cool? I'm going to GameHole Con in Madison, WI this weekend. I get to meet Ed Greenwood (the author of the book) on Friday night and am going to have him sign my copy. Maybe I'll ask him about the cover as well. Thanks for watching my video. Cheers!
@KabukiKid2 жыл бұрын
@@WallyDM That's super cool that you are meeting Ed Greenwood! :-D I first discovered him when he was writing stuff for Dragon Magazine, prior to the Forgotten Realms setting being released for AD&D 1e. Such an imagination! :-)

I love seeing these kind of videos for ideas for my solo toolkit. I love all the different decks and the Volos guide book. I do have a few sets of the story cubes and have seen another KZbinr use them to make dungeon traps. I’ve now got those sand timers, the weather and direction dies and a mini whiteboard on my shopping list.
@WallyDM2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I'm glad you liked the video. I also use the story cubes to make dungeon traps. In fact, I think I have a few of those videos on my channel too. :-) And, you can't go wrong with those sand timers and the white board. They are really inexpensive too. Hope they serve you well. Thank you for watching, Cheers!

In my DM toolkit I usually have a notebook, mechanical pencils, pens, a not as portable as it should be homemade play mat, dry erase markers, my glass beads monster/NPC tokens, and more dice than anyone should ever need at one time. The play mat is a 3 foot by 4 foot sheet of clear plexiglass which I place over a hand drawn 1 inch grid of poster paper.

A solid DM Tool Kit for sure. And, I like that plexiglass trick, for sure!

The rpg hobby is only for people who enjoy collection quests IRL. Definitely got a lot of cool stuff there. I had no idea some of this existed. A friend of mine had poker dice too. What a flashback seeing those. And what's up with those tv character cards (your puzzle pieces)? Happy gaming!
@WallyDM Жыл бұрын
lol, yep. I seem to collect so much RPG stuff and use very little of it. I enjoy it though. And yeah, those I've had those poker dice since the 1980s. Oh, the character cards are puzzle pieces I created for the Lamplighter Inn puzzle that can be found in the Journal of Puzzle Encounters. Thank you for watching, cheers!

Wow you got a lot of fun toys that you can use for dm! I'm jealous of your dice collection! I only have like 3 sets of dice and I rarely play dnd in real life, since I'm mostly a online dm and most of my friends live further away from me! Where do you get that werid dice you showed? Also dose online dice collection count? I got it from dnd beyond since they give it away every month if you subscribe to them. I think I got a little overwhelm by your collection of cards and cost a lot that I will never use them
@WallyDM2 жыл бұрын
I believe online dice count, for sure. :-). And, yep, I have a lot of fun toys, but, I've been slowly adding things for several years. A lot of items were Kickstarters I backed or novelty items I picked up along the way. Which weird dice were you interested in? Thank you for watching! :-)
