The ULTIMATE E36 Axle Upgrade/Conversion!

If you own an E36 and you drift it, chances are you break a lot of axles! Aftermarket axles are much weaker than OEM, and finding used or cost effective axles is becoming harder to find. After doing lots of research I came across this rear conversion you can do, to help solve your axle breaking problems! This is not talked about much on forums or on KZbin, so I wanted to make this video to share some of the knowledge I've learned to help out some other E36 owners!

UPDATE - Getting lots of questions regarding the brake situation. You can REUSE your e36 rotors and calipers (that’s what I did). OR you can just use the E46 calipers and rotors. Completely your choice. It’s direct bolt on.

A year later is the e46 swap still working for you? Or do you still need something stronger? Are these any stronger than the M3 axles?

You wanna go for 320D axles with Holden cv joint drilled out to fit bolts, the 330 is still hollow axles so you have strengthened the cvs but the tube is still hollow l, 320D is the way to go!

So far so good man, I’ve torture tested it and no issues yet. If I encounter that in the future I’ll keep it in mind!

too much camber pulls the cv joint out of place...and they break up.

Did you have to switch the rotors n brakes aswell? I assume the rotor wouldn’t fit the bigger hubs

E36 m3 axles/hubs/trailing arms/diff stubs are all same size as the 330, just harder to find
