Strong agree. Victorinox has legendary quality and the Cybertool L is no exception. Even the screwdriver bits in the Cybertool are good, and are much more durable than the bits from Leatherman, for example. Carrying a Cybertool L in addition to a Knipex Cobra XS is a tool set that is really hard to beat.

Couldn't agree more, though I have slowly moved away from the Cobra XS to the Pliers Wrench XS as I use it more often to work on my MTB and Motorcycle and it doesn't chew up the bolts. The Cobras are more versatile though. Can't go wrong either way I guess ;)

I have a leatherman wave plus and it has been the most useful tool I’ve ever owned. I use it all the time and much more than I ever thought I would. I’ve never had a victorinox but the amount of tools on that thing is impressive.

I have the "original" Wave and I love it. Its not legal to carry where I live though unless I have a very specific reason for doing so (which I usually don't). So sadly the Wave (and most leathermans) are simply not an option for me.

@@TobisTings Well I'm in the UK where it's even worse, we can't EDC any locking blades at all. So I can't carry my Rebar. At least in Germany you can legally carry a Rebar or Supertool, but not the Wave, Surge etc. because they're also one handed opening.

I feel that this is a good option for a slip joint. The swisstool spirit x I feel is the best all rounder. I attached a small keyring to it and to that I attach a carabiner with a clip like you showed. I carried a Cybertool M/34 as my main multitool for many years professionally. I thought about purchasing the large, but wanted to give the Swisstool a try and even though it wieghs more, I find it carries better.

I have a Swisstool MX clip with all the add-ons that go in the leather sheath. Most days I just carry the Swisstool itself. I honestly don't understand people complaining about the size! It fits in the pocket well and I prefer a bigger more usable tool anyhow. I also own a Surge with all of the add-ons. I love them both!

I have a modified one, knives and wood saw removed to make it more compliant to knife laws. Always in a sheath on my belt or in my pocket. I often carry a knife in addition to it but it offers a lot of flexibility not having any knife blades.

I have had this Cybertool in my pocket for more than 20 years. I also have a Leatherman Wave but with the exception of the pliers, the Victorinox is clearly better in quality and functionality than the Leatherman. I keep it in a tight nylon pouch so it does not wear on pockets. I totally agree that there should be more of a bit selection for it now. Otherwise the only thing I miss compared to the Swiss Champ is the magnifying glass - having got older and with poorer eyesight. Another idea is to have the end of the can opener also have a notch to remove ticks with. An increasing problem in everyday life. But, so far I have not found anything better than this!

20 years with the same Pocket knife is a statement in and of itself. Awesome! I have recently started experimenting with carrying the Victorinox Nail Card in my wallet which also has a magnifying glass on it. It does however add a good bit of bulk. As for the Tick removal tool: There is a Video by Jeffrey Lippman here on youtube where he shows how he opened up the third slot on the scales of his swiss champ and modded an extra set of small tweezers for tick removal. Maybe something like this would also be useful for you. Best regards!

I used to carry a Cybertool L + a Kershaw Link 1776 as my EDC. Honestly, I barely used half of the tools when I had it on me. That's not to say I've never used all the tools; I have. They've all come in handy, but I realized after about a year or two of carrying it, that it'd be better to just keep it in my backpack. My current EDC is a Leatherman Free T4 + SAK Manager + a Rovyvon A1. I occasionally pair them with a Skeletool CX and a SAK Spartan (just because I'm a sucker for classics), but 90% f the time it's overkill.

Take the Compact, add pliers and the bitholder layers on it and I'd buy that in a heartbeat. But this, this is too bulky and also filled with things not even remotely related to anything "cyber". If I'm looking for a CYBERtool I don't need a toothpick or a woodsaw for example, or a full layer of can and bottle openers. The Compact's combotool can open cans and bottles and leave the screwdriving for the bitdriver.

Well the Cybertool M drops the saw and file, but still has the opener layer. I find those openers useful for all kinds of other tasks than opening cans and bottles, like odd prying and scraping jobs. There's no weight or space saving by ditching the toothpick though!

I think the Cybertool L would be the ideal SAK for me… but every time I want to buy one I can’t see myself choosing to carry it over the Spirit MX Clip. The Spirit takes the toolset of a Leatherman and puts it into a slick THIN package with all the positive construction qualities of a SAK.

Had a Victorinox CyberTool for ages, it is a nice tool if you don't need big pliers. I have sold it and bought a Leatherman Rebar a few years back. It's § 42a WaffG compliant (Hallo aus Deutschland) and got everything except the scissors, you can use the tip of the serrated blade as a small screwdriver if really needed (for glasses). Nice vid btw.

Hi and thanks! I also have a Rebar and I carried that guy for ages in my EDC pouch. I don't need a big set of pliers that often in my daily life so I prefer having the extra functionality of the scale tools and especially the bit driver on the Cybertool (I also carry a 4" Knipex in my bag in case I need pliers), but the Rebar is certainly a great tool and a good recommendation for a legal to carry multitool here in germany. Its also probably the best looking multitool on the market in my opinion. Beste Grüße! :)

@@TobisTings Most people including me,after getting the Spirit X, never used their Leathermans again. Spirit X has a version, that comes with a ratchet and bits, (way better bits than Leatherman ones.You can always add any bit you like as I did. Actualy, I bought the Ratchet set as an extra after a year I owned the Spirit X. The Rachet set is also the highest quality I've ever come across!! For 2 days now, I was helping a cousin to asemble and install all the furniture in his new house.Both the Spirit X and the Ratchet did all the work! If Cybertool covers your needs, you're Golden!!

I just recently returned my Spirit X with Rachet. And I think SwissChamp or CyberTool L are just better EDCs. I got on the hype train bought the Spirit X, only to experience the horrible scissors, and a bulky pouch to carry the extra rachet set. To me, it defeat the while purpose of being a portable EDC. And did I mention the scissor is horrible? Not because it doesn't open wide, it is because it is a left-handed scissors which makes precision cut impossible. At the end, don't believe the hype, you have to experience it yourself.

Also just to clarify that I also have a swisstool I actually love. I think it is a better tool than the Spirit X as a whole. While it is no an EDC, but it does what it does better than Spirit X. Maybe that is why the Spirit X didn't impress me.

Great video! I've been looking at the Cyber Tool for awhile and might pick one up. I have to say I also find it hilarious especially in the EDC crowd that people will say any Victorinox that's not the Compact is too big for daily carry but will carry a large folding knife, a pair of mini pliers, and some weird pry tool fidget that are all way bigger than the SAK.

Nice video and a very cool tool. Not sure about carrying it in my pocket though. I like the smaller ones, as even when I have a bag, I really like to have it in a pocket. But this one will go straight to the bag) And then maybe I don't really need all-in-one if I have a bag to carry multiple tools.

Are you aware that there are four extra bits made by Victorinox? There's a T6/T8, a 1.2/1.5mm hex, a 2/2.5mm hex and a double-sided slotted bit as well. I find that regular 4mm precision bits work fine, even when not retained. Have you tried putting in a magnet? I can't see what problems that would cause.

@TobisTings Ай бұрын
Great choice actually! I carried one myself for ages and its still a go to if I need something slimmer. Once you get used to having all the tools of the Cybertool at your disposal its kinda hard to go back though, so it's worth the extra bulk for me. All a matter of taste and preference though ;)
@simonh6371
@simonh6371 Ай бұрын
The thickness is 34mm. The Swisschamp is 33mm so more or less the same. I can carry my Swisschamp in the 5th/watch pocket of all my jeans and those are slim fit Jack and Jones, not some ginormous American jeans either. It doesn't bang around either as it's held tight and close to the body, so honestly it's not as bulky as you think. But...Pioneer Alox is a great SAK, I love my alox. I have a Farmer and a Farmer X, not the Pioneer X, just because it cost almost as much as the Farmer X so I thought what the heck, the saw layer isn't that thick anyway. If you carry the Pioneer/Farmer X with Knipex Cobra XS you have a good solid and capable toolset. Add a bit driver like a Wera 813 (it's the size of a Bic lighter) and you can do a lot of work. Today I'm carrying the Farmer together with a Jetsetter for scissors and the little Phillips which is surprisingly capable for it's size, and Cobra XS. But I do like the larger scissors more.
