I've carried this knife for more than a year now, and i love it! It is near perfect for me, but i was just a little bit unhappy about the bit selection. It comes with 4 double sided bits: Phillips 0, Phillips 1. Slotted 4 mm, Phillips 2. Torx 8, Hex 4. Torx 10, Torx 15. But I would have liked some bits to be different. I discovered that victorinox actually makes different bits that i like more: a Torx 6, Torx 8 bit, and a Hex 2, Hex 2.5 bit. But these are only available in the really big models. Until i finally found a shop when i was on Holliday in Luxemburg that sold these bits seperately. I bought those and i replaced them with the Torx 8, Hex 4 bit and with the Slotted 4 mm, Phillips 2 bit. Now the bit selection is near perfect for me. But, I do mis the Philips 2 from one bit, and the Hex 4 from the other bit. I would love for Victorinox to make an adjustment to the bit holder to make it hold 4 bits instead of 3, and to make a Phillips 2, Hex 4 bit. That would make this tool absolutely perfect! Now some advice for anyone who would like to buy this knife: I would recommend to buy some knife maintenance things and some spare parts. More specificly, I would recommend some maintenance oil, a knife sharpener, some spare pen refills, and a spare spring for the scissors. And, although I've never lost one, you might want to get a spare toothpick and a spare tweezer. For maintenance oil I just use the multi tool oil from victorinox, and for the knife sharpener I use the Worksharp guided field sharpener. But you can use whatever works for you. And also, if you can get them, you might want to consider getting the Torx 6, Torx 8 bit, and the Hex 2, Hex 2.5 bit. But it took me nearly a year to find them. I hope this helps, and I love that the cybertools seems to be getting some more attention now! (I'm sorry if my English is not fluent, its not my native language.)

When people complain about AF performance (except for false positive issues or actual broken parts), I always laugh. I shot weddings and gigs for 6+ years on a Canon 6D, which has 1 usable at point. Compared to that, even the "bad" Fuji's have great AF 😅

Enjoyed this video a lot, many thanks! It's very nicely made without being in any way over the top or showy. It says that despite your protestations otherwise, you in fact use these tools really very well. Also appreciated your understated but palpably humorous delivery.

The feeling of Frustration because you can't go out shooting whenever you like will suck, but live with that :) good luck to you guys

No but i'd love to. Its too expensive for me to buy just for a video, but I could see it being sort of the perfect FF travel companion if you want to/need to switch lenses. The only drawback I can see really is the EVF. Maybe some day I can get my hand on one.

Nice video and Lake Como looks lovely. We are thinking of going to Lake Maggiore September. Of course I'll take my X100vi and WCL, but you now have me thinking about getting a TCL too. I have used my X100vi for a Swiss skiing holiday in March (action and scenery), hiking in the UK (landscapes), family days out (general) and for polo matches (sport/action) and find the AF just fine (provided has it is set up appropriately).

Your favourite edc travel camera has a 35mm fixed lens, but 35mm isn’t your favourite focal length. Help me understand your reasoning here Tobis 😊. Nice relaxed paced, photography travel vlog as usual by the way.

My favorite travel camera is actually still the Leica Q2, which has a 28mm lens. But yes, I get it and you are ofcourse right. My favorite lenses are 28mm and 50mm. So 35mm is kind of the sweetspot in between the two. If I can't decide or just don't want to switch lenses, 35mm can be a great choice because I get a bit of both worlds. The downside being of course that its a compromise.... and that's why I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with 35mm lenses ;)
@nosherz
@nosherz 2 күн бұрын
@@TobisTings. I think 35mm is a great focal length in its own right & of course many of the most iconic images ever shot, were with a 35. Having said that, when I look at my own favourite photos I’ve taken down the years, many were taken with a 24, 50 & 90 also. So there’s no way I could stick with just one focal length either. It might actually be better artistically to stick rigidly to one focal length throughout- but that’s a whole other topic 😊

This just proves Fuji made an error with its x100vi - fortunately for the other brands because it is sold very well :) - it s not having put on it a 18mm (27mm eq FF) to propose a perfect concurrent to Leica Q2… and due to its new high definition sensor allowing to frame 28mm & 35 mm with very good quality and occasionally 50mm with some lower resolution ( but perfectly acceptable for A4 print and a little more A4 prints needs only 8mpix). True that for this you need to develop a well good 18mm , large aperture f2 minimum and it s not easy… but this could have been the best travel camera. No doubt that Fuji is working on it but they missed something there :((.
@nosherz
@nosherz 2 күн бұрын
@@philmtx3fr. 27mm would be better for many, but then it alienates those who prefer something closer to 40 or 50. And the cropping solution works fine (in theory) but I don’t agree with the approach of thinking I’m going to shoot everything wide & then crop out everything I don’t like afterwards. That can’t be good practice for any photographer when it comes to visualising a scene imo.
@philmtx3fr
@philmtx3fr Күн бұрын
@@nosherz I don t agree. You can perfectly have a « cropping » in the digital view finder which shows you exactly 35 or 50mm ( and why not 40mm) and not shooting all wide angle and then crop in post prod. It s the same in terms of usage of the sensor but better in composition. But you will see … I can bet that the x100vii will also exist in 18/27mm :). They missed 25-50% of their target … and Leica is happy :).

Mate, really digging your channel and this video is no exception. It seems like you’re keeping the x100…it also boosts the views I guess ;-) Anyways, I’m rocking the Q3, but I’m constantly also thinking about the x100vi. It wouldn’t be the financially smartest idea to have two fixed lens cameras, and I then would always have to decide which camera to pick, countering the limitation of choice that I was trying to achieve with getting the Q3, but what interests me in the Fuji are the film simulations as one does not always want to edit pictures. Now, you mentioned several times that nowadays you mostly edit your pics, so I reckon you did not use the film simulations. Since you guys are expecting a newborn very soon, which will certainly keep you more at home (trust me), what about making a video about your LR editing process? Keep it up under Gruß aus München.

Cheers mate! I still prefer the Q2 and I had to downright force myself to shoot with the X100 VI for a while, but I am warming up to it more and more and it certainly has its benefits over the Q2. And yeah, maybe I will do a video about my Lightroom editing process at some point, but I to be honest I would feel like such a fraud doing it. I barely know what I am doing myself when it comes to editing in LR and I am by no means an expert. Most of my edits don't take more than a minute or two. Beste Grüße nach München ;)

Schönes Reisevideo! Danke für die Mühe! Auf Reisen habe ich nur das 16-80 auf meiner Fuji. Damit habe ich alle notwendigen Brennweiten abgedeckt. Thanks! And yes, still the best camera backpack I have ever had. I only use it when I really want to carry a lot of camera gear though. So on most days and for smaller outings I will just use my regular EDC backpack with a camera insert. You can check my latest video about the Goruck GR1 if you want to see how that works. Sidenote: Compagnon now also sells a smaller 20L Version of this backpack, which did not exist when I bought mine (30L). The smaller one wouldn't be able to fit my 16" MacBook but other than that it would be a much more reasonable size for my daily needs. Hope that helps.

Don’t diss the built in flash. Because this line of cameras uses a leaf shutter, the flash syncs even at very high shutter speeds. It works great as a fill flash when shooting outdoors or indoors when the subject is backlit. I just set the power low and it nicely fills in my subject. Anyway, check it out. Its flash might really come in handy for you someday, once you’ve practiced with it bit.
