It’s better to practice landing the shots in slower time and line them up exactly with the height of who you fight. You see camps bring in guys to replicate a guys size and somewhat of their style but Connors basically saying to slow everything down and drill very specific reactions to their most common tendencies on a guy that's their size and proportions. You don't see guys really slow it down to that level, they usually just bring em in to spar and ask em to try and replicate the look.

YuP often fighters cuff their shots with an arc so the blow is just glancing rather that letting the landing blast through the target so to speak. This being the advantage of straight shots as well. Once the opponent gets rocked then of course the more arching punches can come through which can get the finish.
