he did. He said hitting pads and sparring guys in the hope they will be similar to who you have to fight is stupid. It’s better to practice landing the shots in slower time and line them up exactly with the height of who you fight. He’s trying to say that he visualises them and where to place the shot and most fighters just hit pads which is a random shot at the head instead of being precise.

People hating in here acting like hes talking nonsense lol. This is how he placed that perfect shot on aldo's chin. Hes talked about this philosphy before. Hes trying to build muscle memory/calculate his shots slowly, as you should learn anything. People have a tendency to try to learn things full speed 100%, but miss the details.

He's 100% cocked, but what he's saying in really interesting though. Peoples spend their time sparring, but i've never seen peoples in the gym asking their partner to replicate the exact attitude of their opponent and focus on drilling the shots in slow mo. When you see the accuracy of his shots in his fights against aldo, alvarez, diaz 2, it was almost weird how precise his shots were. I think there's a link between what he talks about here and that precision he had

It wasn't nonsense, what he's saying is actually interesting for anyone who wants to fight or get better. You see camps bring in guys to replicate a guys size and somewhat of their style but Connors basically saying to slow everything down and drill very specific reactions to their most common tendencies on a guy that's their size and proportions. You don't see guys really slow it down to that level, they usually just bring em in to spar and ask em to try and replicate the look.

YuP often fighters cuff their shots with an arc so the blow is just glancing rather that letting the landing blast through the target so to speak. This being the advantage of straight shots as well. Once the opponent gets rocked then of course the more arching punches can come through which can get the finish.

In a room full of coaches and the man won't shut up. I'd wanna be on Chandler's team for the experience, but would be cool if I was on conors for the connection

Conor always looks like he's totally uninterested in anyone else talking for even a few seconds or asking a short question. He can't wait to jump in and always cuts people off. Total narcissist. Imagine sitting next to this dude on a stool in a pub if he was just some bloke. I'd get up and move down the bar to get away after 15 minutes.
