Hey guys! First of all I want to say that I appreciate each and every one of you for watching & commenting on this video. It really means a lot to me to be able to bring Filipino food to a much broader audience via an avenue like KZbin. My mother immigrated from the Philippines at age 14 and I was able to learn about Filipino food and culture through her and my Lolo & Lola while growing up. I have been to the Philippines as a child but in no way do I purport myself as an expert in the cuisine. I try to take what I know about the food and have experienced growing up w/ Filipino relatives and try to explain it in a way that non-Filipinos would be able to understand it. What most of you may not know is that I don’t just show up to be a face on the show. I am involved w/ the production, creation and writing of most of the episodes that I appear in. My goal is to show that Filipino cuisine is a mainstay in the culinary world on a broader global perspective. I hope that you guys will continue to rock with us and support this dream of mine as we continue to produce more content. Thank you so much 🤙🏻 🇵🇭

I think because Ryan doesn't really know much of Filipino cuisine. In a jollibee video, he pronounced palabok or something wrong which really puts a lot of filipinos in shame, the person representing the country even says the food wrong. It's really more on that he thinks he's qualified to be a Filipino but really he's not. Theres been a gap with Filipino kids growing up in US vs filipinos who grew up in philippines, which I think is the main reason. It's unfair for someone to call themselves Filipino when they dont even know about Philippine culture, cuisine, and didn't even grew up in philippines. Maybe he should make it clear and use the term "Filipino-American" instead of just filipino. These are just from my perspective :)

I'm really impressed on how Ryan tried to explain all of this in a subtle filipino way but still trying to catch the attention of the broader audience who isn't filipino. Filipinos have to understand that this kind of video isn't suppose to be targeting the Filipinos(us), but those who want to learn more of our culture and by culture it's great to always start introducing it with food. You were thought well by your parents on preserving our culture. Kudos man!

I'm a Filipino and I think Benson is doing fine. I can tell that he is proud of his culture. He's also proud of his Irish side. (check out their Irish vid) They shouldn't blame him if he can't pronounce the words correctly. He grew up in the US. The food that he's showing are only the typical foods you find and he did not the best but a good job explaining them. He didn't show you the more exotic food that requires more in depth explanation. But if you look at him, you can really tell that he enjoys sharing what he knows about his culture. To the toxic Filipinos, Can't you just be thankful that our cuisine is slowly getting in to the scene? Y'all think your perfect English is an excuse to put someone of your race down? I thought we're one of the nicest people out there. If you think Benson needs improvement, then point it out in a nice way but still congratulate him. He's trying. He may need your encouragement to do a better job in the future. But no, y'all keep on dragging him in the other videos. He's more Filipino than other kids who grew up in the Philippines who doesn't even act Filipino. Mga feeling perfect kayo. Sugid lang lang nga kung kamo sa lugar niya... nganga gid lang kamo po. Hiligaynon yan. Total, minamaliit niyo naman mga taga probinsya. Maybe it's in the culture talaga. 🤣 Can't we all just get along?

Pan de sal is basically Salt Bread in Spanish. Pan meaning bread and Sal meaning salt. Pampanga is famous for their sisig. Why no sisig? Carioca is basically dango but fried coated in caramelised sugar. Spoon and Pork looks like an amazing Filipino Fusion food. I hope they're doing well during this pandemic.
