Bought a 7800X3D recently to pair with various other upgrades including an MSI 4080Super I've overclocked to 3000Mhz. Previously had a 3900X CPU overclocked all core from 3.6Ghz to 4.3Ghz. The difference in gaming and even workstation performance is mind boggling. Even though it has 4 less cores and 8 less threads it's not even close. Some games I have doubled my FPS. Glad I upgraded. a shame I had to do it in parts as the one time cost was too much in one go

Not surprised to see the i5-12400F rated pretty highly at $110. I bought mine two years ago for $160 and it has been outstanding not just for gaming but I do some software video compression with it too in Handbrake and am pretty pleased with the H.265 encode times even setting the encoder to the slow preset. Feel like the cpu has been even better bang for your buck than the Xeon E3-1231v3 I bought in 2014 to get i7 performance for i5 prices (paid $250 for that one though back when Intel dominated the market and could charge more).

It also depends heavily what games you play. I went from a 5800x to a 5700x3d and saw a MASSIVE increase in the combat flight sims i play (dcs and Il2 strurmovik GB) and escape from tarkov. Like going from an unstable 75 fps to a rock hard 100 fps. Only in eft and dcs.

What an excellent price to performance rating exercise! The "S" and "A" categories are golden. Personally, I purchased an 13600K for $325 (earlier), after a great deal of research. As a 5800X3D user, I do agree that while the CPU is great at gaming, it should not be considered for a new build. AM4 shouldn't be considered at all anymore. I would even say that if you were gifted an AM4 motherboard, but needed Ram and a CPU, it would still be a better idea to buy a lower end CPU on AM5, and spend a little more to get the whole AM5 setup. Even a 7600X can often match the 5800X3D in gaming (right now), and you will have an upgrade path. I had several AM4 PC's, and I did a rolling upgrade on existing systems, that already had RAM and CPUs.

I like the 5700G, had some Hardware lying around from an Upgrade. So I build a MSI B550 Gaming Carbon with a Ryzen 5700G and 2 NVME SSD's and A Seasonic 750W PSU. Sold it to a nice guy for his son, he added a RX6700XT and had a solid Gamingmashine, even if the GPU runs only on 8x4.0. It delivered pretty solid performance.

Microcenter motherboard bundles throw price to performance way out of whack... if you live near one definitely check it out 😅 (sometimes they cost barely more than the price of the CPU itself, all for a CPU, Motherboard, and RAM)

I made a new build in July using 4600G. It gets the job done for my use case. Web browsing with loads and loads of tabs, MS Office ,old games on steam and some CS2. I am using it with 32GB DDR4 dual channel memory. I didn't have the budget for a gpu so i chose to use this APU. When I first decided that I wanted to make a build I wanted a cpu which could display without gpu. I will pair it with RX6600 to get a good boost in gaming performance. This was my first ever desktop build, I have used laptops all my life so yeah will definitely make a better build next time.

I9-14900k works fine for me (none better on market right now beyond KS/F etc ) no issues been over a year since having one 4k max gaming on a 4090 i do have a 420 AIO with double fan kits max on this to keep temps in 65-70C range even when running CB

Heyy, I recently just upgraded my setup and went with a i9 14900k and rtx 4080 super for gaming/content creation. But I noticed you said the 14900k isn’t good for gaming, why is that? And should I switch to a different cpu

Have you seen the video yet? He explained that the I9 14900K was designed and is suitable for things related to editing, rendering or similar things, not for gaming because the CPU temperature is too hot when used for gaming. Of course I9 14900K can do the same for gaming but it is not worth it.

Warthunder is a great game, you need to invest your life into it to make it too high tier, but its just a fantastic game, that has survived time and reinvented itself. Ive been playing since 2013, and sure, there has been issues and gripes but the game is just always adapting and growing, and i still play it heavily at times.

This video was very useful even for me who lives in another country, Ryzen's cpu stands out in the Brazilian market for delivering great value for money, this video helped me analyze whether this is also reflected in other regions of the international market, here they are and the ones that stand out the most, mainly due to the economic issue of our country, are the builds with Ryzen 5600 and 5700x3d as the am5 for now becomes unfeasible and meaningless for many, but with this list the 5600 really seems to be well balanced, but some even consider the Intel platform but its cost-benefit in relation to longevity ends up being the determining factor in opting for AMD CPUs, at least here.

7950X3D should be atleast an A Tier, maybe an S Tier CPU. Its expensive, ok, but you can select the 3D cores for the game and the non-3D cores for everyhting else which gives you more game performance for all games which needs a lot of CPU power, like Escape from Tarkov for example. And you can run a lot of stuff in the backgrouch which doesnt effect the game performance.

Seeing as this is a tier list mainly based on the price to performance ratio, I think it would make sense to blend in for what price you would have to get the CPU for it to be placed into a certain tier, like you did for the 7500f. For some CPUs you only mention the relative price to another CPU and that can change. Still a mammoth of a video full of great advice
