One thing that i've consistently noticed as well when closing out is that the best defenders will consistently aim to straddle the non pivot foot of the shooter they're closing out on so that he can only go towards the baseline because otherwise , if he tries to rip through you to access the middle , he will get meet with resistance due to the body positionning and those clips that you showed highlighted it perfectly ! Yessir love these videos that still value defense the same as offense, as a defensive minded and oriented player this helped a lot when I was starting out basketball I naturally loved and enjoyed playing defense because it was the only thing I can do, but despite having 100% grit & effort on d on every play I knew I had to watch some of these videos and learn tricks and these really helps for the new generation who don’t got defense like that.
