Amazing! this helps a lot to all of us!. I´d love to see another video where you explain how to get the classic country rock/pop drum sound, there´s a lot going on there and/or the typical motown drum sound (dry high pitched snare, etc).

Great video. Love seeing different signal chains! One suggestion (nothing to do with the actual mix but in your video recording) dip your dialogue mic just a bit during the listening examples. The background room noise interferes a great deal with hearing proper details of the changes made.

People forget that audio professionals are the ones who develop the presets for plugins. There's a reason they're there, they won't apply to every possible scenario every time but they'll get you REAL close

Nice, thanks for sharing, I remember one time I heard a Bethel Mix Engineer talk about his Stream Mix, and he basically was using that SSL plugin for all channels, with the stock plugins 😅, sounds great!! Also, nice tip on that gate plugin, it helps a lot

this is the kind of video i’ve been wanting to see. it’s unfortunate that groups like bethel music turned their snare tone into a profitable thing - asking people to join an online production course or just overall being super vague and mysterious about it. that church already brings in millions from their records and touring, why do we have to sign up for a course?
@corantoba6 ай бұрын
You can join or not. Its your time free or you receive a salary for your work for example? So just be careful with your words my friend.

My bigger issue is with the sketchy theology episodes their whole ministry has had. Makes the picture a little sad, especially with how excellent their music is

Wow, sounds pretty good. Using a lot of presets. But that's smart, if they just sound good, why not use them. I don't have that UAD Hitsville Mastering EQ. How can I achieve similar results without that plugin? What does it do? Looks like its boosting lows and highs.
@Izzyrealmusic7 ай бұрын
Hey glad you liked the vid!! Yeah so the other plugin that I would recommend for getting a similar result is the Waves PuigTec EQ or the Waves Abbey Road TG Mastering chain plugin! They are both really great for getting a similar result.

Thanks for the great video! I’m new to mixing and audio engineering so this may be a dumb question: Is this mixing only for broadcasting/recording or can this sound be used for live performance as well? If so, do you need to hook up your mac to a mixing console (ex. X32) via audio interface?
@Izzyrealmusic6 ай бұрын
Sweet!! Hey there are no dumb questions here lol, what I showed can be applied for broadcasting and recording! But you can use these same principles for live mixing cause I get the same sound when I mix on a X32 with their stock plugins and it sounds great and fat! With the X32 I don't gate cause I want to hear the ghost notes but i'll do EQ then compression then Gated verb then big verb and on the main bus of the drums I do a parallel compression and it gets me a fat sound and whats crazy is that the snare is a 14x5 steel snare that you can get for $150 and sounds just like the ludwig black beauty 🤯 I hope this helps you!!

Why should I always flip the phase on the bottom snare mic?
@Izzyrealmusic7 ай бұрын
The Snare will sound thin if you don't flip the phase on the bottom mic cause of the wave samples wont line up and you'll lose frequencies.
@KJSchepers4 ай бұрын
Just gotta say that a recording engineer could already have taken care of it. So “always” check imo. Great video man!
