The missed damage of Arambai was changed from half to full. Their attack was lowered significantly. This change might of been brought in when you were playing aoe4 or League so it's understandable if you missed it.

They no longer flatten huskarls like dough. Disappointed.
@voyagerdeepspaceexploratio50235 ай бұрын
In masses they still are powerful. I had a game vs. cavaliers recently, I hid them in a corner cluttered, they would kill one at a time and the enemy retreated. Not even elite yet and they were nerfed by a lot. Their strenght is masses and being behind the frontline in mass battles, with only a few they're quite useless and expensive. I would still reduce the wood cost to 50 or 60. 75 gold is a lot so that should be fine.

What are your opinions about Manipur/Meitei elements on Burmese? Correct me if I'm wrong but if I remember correctly, Arambai and their weird darts are more of a Meitei thing. However, I don't know whether Meitei and Burman people are culturally and politically close or not. Still, do u think Arambai is a good unit for Burmese? If it is not, what would u suggest? Sorry, this may be a bombardment of questions.
@cruzi70242 жыл бұрын
Burma back in 1700 are greatly influence by Eastern Indians. Hence, no wonder the game has Meitei theme for Burmese. As for Arambai, they are really good in great number and better if u can micromanage them. But I usually avoid using them in Castle Age. U can still go with Knight/Crossbow in early to mid Castle then switch to Elephant/Arambai in late castle and Imperial age mix with some Herbedier

I really like this structure of civ guide. It's very well organized and you hit on all the important topics. Awesome video! I think the blacksmith part should be merged with the military building section. So like, when you're talking about what Burmese get from the archery range, talk about the archer blacksmith upgrades at that point as well. I think it makes most contextual sense since you're talking about their archer viability overall, and the blacksmith upgrades are incredibly relevant in that conversation. Obviously the same feedback applies to the stable and barracks sections too. Really high quality video Hera!

@quidfit84362 жыл бұрын
@@Tsukamy I think it was actually a part of a nerf were they lowered the Arambais base attack so that it was only good en-mass and couldn't bust through walls as easily.
@CrnaStrela2 жыл бұрын
It is a kinda a nerf since they brought down the base attack as well, although they now do better when the darts missed and hit unintended targets, they also lost their ability to blow up buildings as this hits together with the change of Manipur Cavalry effect

Great video If you want to try a odd Burmese strat try all in crossbows + Elephants in castle age, despite your crossbows sucking the elephant is an OP front line with its extra armor archer civs will not be able to push through it (Vietnamese elephant + crossbow will loose to the Burmese even in imp). This comp is countered by Crossbow+monk however this isn't a great pushing army, and it sets you up to go manipur Light cav early imp and crush them. If you do this it is important that your army is forward in castle age, because you want to be able to maneuver the elephants around his base to avoid monks while continuing to pressure, if he is attacking you and you need to back up with elephants you will just loose farm space and vills. One thing that I have learned with Burmese is that manipur calvary is a much bigger deal for your hussar than for your cavalier, if you want to counter archers save the gold, build hussar.

I wonder how Burmese would look like with access to the Elephant Archer and letting their elephant armor bonus expand to it. It's not a great unit, but it would at least feel like you were doing SOMETHING in the ranged game.

Never underestimate those elephants! Burmese Elephants take (with equal upgrades) 1 dmg from the crossbow line and 2 dmg from CA line (while having 270/320 HP). AND they do trample damage. My most favorite moment was watching my opponent manoeuvre 40 Arbs into a 1x1 woodline hole and 3 elephants instantly deleting his entire army without losing a single chonker. Just make sure to have your own (better) monks to reconvert the elephants your opponent took from you, supported by crossbows to snipe enemy monks and pikes!

Technically, the only regional unique unit is the Imperial Camel, which doesn't even take bonus damage from samurai.
@PauxloE2 жыл бұрын
@@satyakisil9711 I think Hera is using the term "regional unique unit" for units which are normally called "regional unit". You are right that the Imperial Camel (the unique upgrade of the Hindustanis to the regional unit (Heavy) Camel) can be considered a "regional unique unit", but I think this term is quite useless.

I lost a 2v2 as burmese against a cavalier + skirmisher + heavy siege push tho I'm probably just a nooblord. Opponents walled up in lombardia and I was unable to deal any significant damage during feudal and early castle.
@pinkod6662 жыл бұрын
Hi Hera, I think Burmese should get some buff, maybe it should get the missing castle age archer armor, and for exchange lose the Heavy Cav Archer tech and/or 1-2 university tech; if I remember correctly Spirit of the Law's stats, it is a little bit underpowered nowadays and I also rarely see it picked in pro matches. What do you think, what would happen if the devs change this civ the way I described? Would it be overpowered or ballanced? And what are your general thoughts about the ballance of those civs that doesn't have some castle age armor, like Malays (cavalry) or Tatars (infantry), doesn't this disadvantage make them too weak in a too high number of civ matchups, or they are in a ballanced state?

I don't get why people dump on Burmese Elite Skirmishers so much. Ok, they're not great. But they still are cost effective against arbalests and even unique units like the Genoese crossbowman. So yeah they do it worse than most civilizations but they are at least good at what they're supposed to counter. In fact if the market price gets to the point you're selling 100 food for 45 gold, the skirmishers are probably better than their cavaliers at countering a mono arbalest army that has no combined unit support, although both units do fine against the archer line. Imagine you gave the Dravidians Bloodlines and Knights but... nothing else. People would still use it even though it would be a weak knight line right? Hey at least their skirmishers are not like the Franks who are missing bracer so that their elite skirmishers constantly have range issues.
@fo0l9132 жыл бұрын
Theyre designed for elephant and arambai play but dont get a good counter to halberdier. Youd think they could at least get fully upgraded skirm since they dont get arbalest/hand cannon/thumb ring. I guess the idea is players can go elephants and... swordsman? Heavy scorpion? Not very realistic in competitive play, clearly.

The developer could buff burmese like this: Give the arambais the same ability of shrivamsha's to dodge the archer projectiles and a lil bit more base attack because its a castle unit and not so easy to mass. It would help them more to handle with strong cav units like paladins. The arambais will need this to get a hugh number if they are even in a fight. After this simple changes, the burmese are fine! Thank you. 12-->14, 15-->17
