Put me on lake, I'll catch fish. But Crank baits are always one of my should I or shouldn't I baits. I find i throw them with minimal success. I am a Jig guy through and through. But as you know that eats up a lot of time on the water. I never thought of the wobble factor, so I will now address that issue and see what happens. Thank you Mike for the lesson. You rock and your videos rock as well.

Thanks for talking about the only bait that I use. I took your advise about crank bait wobble. I went out and got some flat side baits. I mostly troll my baits. This week the flat sided baits out performed the square bills. I also agree about no steady retrieve. When I am trolling I am zig zagging the kayak, speeding up and slowing down. Looking forward to hear what you have to say about the rod and line selection.

I fish river current here in Fredericton New Brunswick Canada. There not a lot of rocks, logs or grass bed. Nashwaak river with the island at the mouth of the river on the east side of the island is 230 feet from the riverbank where i stand. I might be off a little short. There not a lot of different bait fish in the river. There perch and minnows, pumpkinseeds, redbreast sunfish, American Shad, blue back herring and a few other bait fish

I see the wincher crank fishermen all the time giving no action to the lure, it's puzzling. Yeah, you can catch fish winching but you'll definitely catch more adding action. And for bankers, you'll save $ on lures by intentionally keeping it off the bottom and using your crank/rod angle/side rod action to impart livelihood into the lure.
