Thank you Ike for the breakdown. I’ve been reluctant to throw the spinner because of my lack of knowledge. You just put on a clinic. Your videos are absolutely awesome. I’ll stay tuned in.

Your organized methodological approach to teaching reminds me of some of my best college experiences when I sat in the classroom years ago. I understand that there are collegiate fishing teams at several schools. They should be offering credit for watching your videos or inviting you to teach a series. Today I feel like I have a much firmer grasp on spinner bait basics. I’m looking forward to the rest of your series.

This is fantastic Mike!! I can’t wait for this series! I’ve never really done well with spinnerbaits and couldn’t understand the hype. Well, this last early summer(Early June) I decided to fish one A LOT! I was on a local 6,500 acre lake that is the opposite of many. It is almost always dirty year around but in spring and summer the creeks send in crystal clear NorCal snow melt water and the water this spring was 15ft above full pool which is very high for this lake. I looked for the seem between clear flowing water and dirty lake water that had scattered vegetation and willows with casting lanes right down the color change. Spinnerbait was the ticket and now my interest in learning everything I can about them is peaked. Thanks for doing these “series” videos. They are always fantastic. You really helped my jig fishing with the last one! 😃👍🏼💪🏼

Great series Mike. I always have a spinner bait tied on. Living in Florida I’ve caught a lot of bass on them, including some big ones. Luv the channel. Keep up the good work.

This is going to be great. Spinnerbait is a time tested bait, especially in OK. I typically go with a double willow and I like painted blades either in dirty water or clean water seems to get more bites. Looking forward to the next 3 vids.

Love these series it provides a bit more in depth knowledge for the more experienced angler. Hi mike! You broke down each separate situation in a nutshell however I have some conflicting situations where makes it a little more difficult to select the right spinnerbait. For example if I’m fishing hot water (expecting willow leaf) but the water is stained/dirty (expecting Colorado) and fishing around hard cover (expecting Colorado) where do you tend to lean to? Would you use a single large willow leaf to maximize all aspects of vibration, speed, and bouncing off cover? Or go with Indiana style since it is a middle of the road type blade for this situation?

Love this master class series. I've only caught a couple of bass on a spinnerbait and that was at night using a black one with a big Colorado blade. Hopefully this will give me the insight to catch some when the sun's out!

Probably ahead of the game, a large single Colorado in the fall allows you to bulge the surface like a wake bait around cover.
@GlideorDieSwimbaits2 жыл бұрын
i won’t go in depth on the color and brand but i’ve been destroying them on a spinnerbait last week or so we got a ton of rain and the fall affect is hitting strong giant balls of bait and temps have drop 10-15 degrees since last month and oh buddy last few days i’ve caught a 5-6 lb on my first cast each time it’s been amazing

hey mike have you ever experimented with clear polycarbonate blades in super clear water? I've got some but i throw some nail polish on them in some colorful patterns. Going to test them in October.

Ike, I gotta tell you; most of the fish I catch on Spinnerbaits are on double willow blades. In muddy, stained and clear water, and of those 3 I’ve had the least success in clear water
